What ever happened to Courtesy & Good Humour?

In my experience working for the government for so many years. Most of the clients I have dealt with appreciate the effort I have made for them. Sometimes I make mistakes (and some pretty big ones). Sometimes the clients are forgiving, sometimes they are now.

We streamed Hatari! recently. Not a great movie by any means. But interesting in the techniques they used to use to catch the animals for the zoo. Also reading up about the movie. They did not use stuntmen for the scenes where they were capturing the animals. John Wayne was really riding of...

    Harbor Tool & Freight

A lot of Harbor Freight power tools are poorer quality than some other tools. I got a 'dremel' equivalent. It was okay, but did not seem to work as well as the dremel. I have gotten a couple of rock tumblers before. They are not made very well. But I did get a set of socket extension. They...

Coronavirus - Time to Reflect on the Initial Reactions

Coronavirus - Time to Reflect on the Initial Reactions

I expect a rise in the number of cases. I am waiting hear how many people got infected at the pool party at the Lake of the Ozarks over the Memorial Day weekend. I have heard that at least one person has been infected.

    Foreign Coins

I just did a google search on the letters on the coin. Then I found a matching image. Clicking on the image showed some information about the coin. I do not do coin collecting, so I do not know how much of that information is useful.

    Foreign Coins

I have not an idea, I rarely attach files to this forum. But I would think you could zip two picture files together. I cannot say I have tried to do anything like that in the past 10 years.

Fun with Primordial Computer Languages - Your Experiences

Two semesters of COBOL back in the late 70's. The last time I did anything with COBOL. Of course it did not help I was not the best typist using punch cards.

    SpaceX

Back in the early 70's when the US was spending millions to send astronauts to the moon. A lot of US citizens were paying more attention to the conflict in Vietnam (never a declared war) and poverty, gas prices, etc. Space exploration is expensive and a lot of people do not understand why we...

In a lot of action movies. If you look closely, you can see ramps, ropes, etc. on the cars. I forget which movie it is (made in the 60's). Where they 'simulate' a avalanche. If watch closely, you can see someone's hand pushing the snow down the 'mountain'.

Fun with Primordial Computer Languages - Your Experiences

Even though I never really used it. In a computer lab at my college. They had a mini-computer where you could re-write the mico code and thus make it act like almost any computer. Some of the other students re-wrote the microcode to make it look like a IBM machine (I do not recall the name of...

Another crazy comedy is 'What's up, doc". Probably the funniest line (as far as I am concerned) is at the end of the movie where Barbara Streisand says "love means you never have to say you're sorry" in which Ryan O'Neal replies "That's the dumbest thing I ever heard ". Which is in reference...

    What's your best/worst joke?

Just because the government has allowed opening some other businesses, I do not think I will visit them anytime soon. Normally we would have gone to a local lake (OK, it is 1.5 hours away) to use our personal water craft by now. But we are not sure when we might go.
