Display message when no records found?

Actually I think I have come up with something that appears to work. Can you have a quick check to see if this makes sense? Thanks again for your help. Not only did it help, but it made sense and (I think ) I've learned something new! Private Sub Form_Open(Cancel As Integer) Dim dbs As...

Display message when no records found?

Thanks for your help, Elana! Could you tell me how you got it to work? Was I missing something or did you change something? Also, how do I get this to work for the other two procedures as well. Is it as simple as "replicating" of the fluoride to match the other two procedures? Thanks again!

Display message when no records found?

Here is the file. I have stripped the data out and added two test cases. Use policy 12345 as a base and 54321 as one that should have the text "Service not eligible", for procedure Fluoride. Thanks!

Display message when no records found?

Hmmn... It seems like the right idea but it isn't quite working. I should add a couple of other points about what I'm doing/showing. - The form is more of a report than a form, as I'm not adding any information - I do not have the PROCEDURE field anywhere on the main form or subforms, only in...

Display message when no records found?

I have three sub forms on a main form. Each of the sub forms is attached to its own query and returns the a field of text from the record when a certain field, PROCEDURE, equals a specified value. (Each subform is looking for a specific value.) Everything is working great, unless there is...

Display multiple records on same table

I think I have solved my problem. Or at least this particular one! I've created 3 "sub" queries, each of which looks for a specific PROCEDURE. Each of the sub queries is its own subform on the main form. I don't know how I managed it but it works and is exactly what I want. Thanks!

Display multiple records on same table

I'm not sure if that's quite what I need, and that may be my fault. Here's a sample of the data: POLICY, DIVISION, PROCEDURE, FREQUENCY, ISSUE 012345,001,Exam,Once per 6 months,Children not eligible 012345,001,Fluoride Treatment,Once per 6 months,Adults not eligible 012345,001,Test,Once per...

Display multiple records on same table

Hopefully this is in the right forum - the issue is pretty equally queries and forms... I have a table set up as follows: POLICY, DIVISION, PROCEDURE, FREQUENCY, ISSUE. There can be multiple divisions with multiple procedures for the same policy but only one frequency and issue per procedure...

D'oh! Thanks Geoff, that was WAY easier than I thought! Thanks for the patience.

Show Results NOT appearing in a Table

Well, I could... If I knew what that was. I'll do a quick search for unmatched queries to see if I can get some background help on how to set them up. Thanks!

Show Results NOT appearing in a Table

Okay, first I apologize for the confusing subject line, but I don't know how to better describe my problem, which hopefully is a simple one. I have two tables, BADCLASS and TERMINATED. BADCLASS shows a list of policies that have a problem. TERMINATED shows a list of policies that have been...

    Totalling Distinct Rows (Only)

    Hello, This is an extract from a table which I am trying to run a query against: (Pardon the poor formatting... life just isn't simple today!) ID Policy Lives 1000 123456 500 1000 123456 500 1500 453451 73 1750 453472 45 2000 123456 500 2000 123456 500 (note, repeated) 2000 456714 1000...

Protecting Specified Fields in Continuous Forms

:) This is one ugly database - no question. It's been a work in progress and the progress has an end date - today. Personal pride forbids me to post a copy of the database, but hopefully one day I will look back and recognize, and be able to fix, all of the problems that it has. It will...

Protecting Specified Fields in Continuous Forms

I'll give that a try. Thanks too for the suggestions about modifying the structure, however I can't change the number of fields, the information in the fields or anything like that. I was hoping to come up with a simple protection for these few fields. Unfortunately to make any changes to the...

Protecting Specified Fields in Continuous Forms

I think I have answered my own question, and it seems to be working - all the better. If anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know! What I did was made the control source as follows: =IIf([Notes]='NE',Null,[Payment]) So if Notes is 'NE', i.e. there was no error, make the field...

Protecting Specified Fields in Continuous Forms

Actually the field names are Investigation, Payment and Communication. Each are combo boxes. If the Notes field contains 'NE' (for 'No Error') then none of fields (Investigation, Payment or Communication) should allow input. If Notes contains 'E' (for 'Error') then at least one of the...

Protecting Specified Fields in Continuous Forms

I have a continuous form which users update periodically. Depending on the value of one of the fields, NOTES, other fields (FIELD_1, FIELD_2 and FIELD_3) should not accept data. I have toyed with the idea of making the field invisible if NOTES is equal to a certain value. On continous forms...

using down/up arrow to move between records in form

For those of us who aren't code literate, can someone provide an example of what AlanS is suggesting? For example, I want to be able to move up and down between controls, like in Excel, rather than having to zip through all fields in one record before moving to the next record.
