    Please check . . .

Hi Pat, Thanks for responding! I'm not sure how you mean. :P The problem is that the location IS being added . . . but doesn't show up unless I escape out of the new record (thus not saving anything), close the main form, then re-open. Yet if I check the location table, it's there! Somehow...

Pat? Jack? Anyone? I don't mean to be a pest but is there anyone out there who is experienced at programming in Access that could possibly take a look at my database and let me know where the problem is? I'm SO close and this issue is the only thing holding me up! I will be ever...

Hi Pat, I'm way out of my depth, here! I have the code on NotInList of the Location field in the Clearance Detail Subform. In the OnLoad Event Procedure of the Location Form, I have: Private Sub Form_Load () If Not IsNull(Me.OpenArgs) Then ' If form's OpenArgs property has a value...

I am hoping that someone will be able to take a look a the overall picture and see where my problem is with the NotInList business. So, I'm going to give the basic dBase structure here plus the code for NotInList. TABLES: Name Table NameID (Primary Key, autonumber) LastName (text)...

It's still telling me "Please try again!" yet when I escape out and close the main form, then reopen and start inputting again, it's now available as a location in the combo box. I've been working on this for 2 days straight now. I'm getting really frustrated because I can't figure out where...

    Please check . . .

So far no luck. It's working great until I close the Location Form - then I get the "Please try again!" message. But if I escape out, close the main form, open it again, and re-enter the same information, the location is there! Is there any other info I could give that could help someone...

    Please check . . .

Well, yes, it does! But I was desperate and had to try *something*! :P However, that didn't work either so I'm probably just going to start over. I'll rename the form Location Form, the query Location Query, and the table Location Table, then edit the code and try again. Maybe I just need to...

Hi Jack, I thought of that so I changed the name of the form and the query to just "Location." Still no luck. I'll have to "play" with it some more tomorrow. Thanks!

Help W/ a form using Lookup - adding new data to "Lookup"

Okay, I've gotten past the 1st run-time error. This is the one I'm getting now: "Run-time error '3078': The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot find the input table or query 'Location Form'. Make sure it exists and that its name is spelled correctly." When I click on debug, the following...

Help W/ a form using Lookup - adding new data to "Lookup"

Okay, I went through the process described in Option 2 of ACC2000: Use NotInList Event to Add a Record to Combo Box (Q197526). It started out working fine by asking if I wanted to add the location but then I got an error when click "yes" that I want to add it. "Run-time error'2448 You cannot...

Formatting Report as "business" cards - possible?

Never mind! I fixed it. Sometimes I need to try something before asking for help! I deleted the field as the label wizard put it in (which was =[MemID]) and just put in the [MemID] field with a "Member Number" label in front of it. All right - now to try the real test - printing them out!

Formatting Report as "business" cards - possible?

Pat, I haven't printed them out yet but it looks like it'll work. My problem now is this: I have the membership number as an autonum field (MemID) in the MemberID table (MemberID table contains MemID, Address, City, ST, Zip, Phone, e-mail, MemberLevel; I have a separate table for MemberDetail...

Formatting Report as "business" cards - possible?

Doh! I can't believe I didn't think of that! LOL! Especially since I'm already using label wizard for the address labels! Thanks, Pat. [This message has been edited by tbaxter (edited 01-30-2002).]

Formatting Report as "business" cards - possible?

I have a membership database. I want to be able to print membership cards for each member using business card stock. Fields to be included would be: 1. concatenated field containing first and last name. 2. Member # 3. Membership Level Any tips on the best way to do this, if it's even...

Help W/ a form using Lookup - adding new data to "Lookup"

The place my sister works for needs to track companies to which their people are "cleared" to go and how long they are "cleared" for that location. I've developed a simple database that allows her to either input or view all "clearances" for each of their people. However, if a new location...
