Ok,
This is a search form with a subform, its not perfect because it has a fault that I have now sorted but it is still good for an example,
Open the form "engineer Form"
You will see option group A-Z,
If you click on a letter the value of that option group will appear in the combo box to...
The combo box will act as an interpreter between your option group that has a numerical value dependant on which one you select and the query that needs to know that you are searching for "2006" and not "2".
So use a Combo box, control source of which would be "=[OptionGroupName]"
Row source...
I think I know what you are trying to achieve, and the easier way to go with this would be to program you barcode scanner or the software for you scanner to do a "Pre Amble"
The pre amble would be Alt-Q

Hi dunne,
What you need to do is change the list box into a subform,
The subform is based on a query that has criteria based on the "title" text box of the main form
Also.
On the main form for each Option group you have you need to create a new combo box,
Each combo box is updated when the...
In the design of you report, if you right click and select "sorting and grouping" another popup should appear.
If you select "mechanics" in here and select "group header - Yes" and "Group on - each value" you should get the report you are looking for.
You will need to keep the "count" in the...
Hi Jkittle,
What are you looking for?
1, To be able to press enter and goto the next line
or
2, When you press enter and it goes to the next line it automaticly puts the next number in for you.

The call does not have to be answered by the PC.
The PC just picks up the ID number while the incoming call is ringing.
The call can still be answered normaly.

Instead of using a seperate piece of equipment and connect throught the serial port you can use certain 56K modems and plug the phone line straight into it.
Activex controls for Access are available for this setup.

I wanted to check it would work before posting....
If it is a subform then, goto the subform first then the control,
DoCmd.GoToControl ("qryHouse2")
DoCmd.GoToControl ("PlotNum")

Hi Tom,
Glad to hear you got it working.
Just one word of caution, If you are thinking about printing the crosstab Graph out then you might run into similar problems to myself.
When it is printed out sometime it comes out as a reverse mirror image.
It tends to happen more when sent to a...
I've done this with pivot graphs, not sure it will work the same with charts.
If you create a form and then view it as a pivot graph I think it will show the label text instead of the field name. That way you can change the label to whatever you want displayed on you pivot chart.

Ok, this makes a little more sense,
Here are the basic steps.
Create a Simple query based on the table containing your data (use the wizard for this)
After it is created open it up in design view,
In the criteria under [Academic Quarter] type
Like ([Please enter academic quarter])
And...
Hi eepok,
I don’t think that I fully understand what you are looking for, so I have a few questions,
When you say that each quarter you have to "dump (and re-populated with current data)" what are you "repopulating" this data with or is this data just having certain fields changed i.e. the...
Well said Adam,
But I do believe that sometimes people need to get "what they want", just to realise that "what they want" is not always "what they need".
Learning by mistakes can be a good learning experience sometimes.
