Solved Error 3022 when Saving and Closing form

I figured it out. Long story but I corrupted my original primary key autonumber field. Made a new field autonumber then made it primary key and now it works as expected.

Solved Error 3022 when Saving and Closing form

I just noticed that if I go through the process described above to get to adding a new coil on frmCoilStatus and I don't add anything in any field and click "Save and Close" the form closes without any warning whatsoever including saying that CoilNumber is required. That's not good.

Solved Error 3022 when Saving and Closing form

Hi All - I have a table tblCoils. Primary key (autonumber) is CoilNumber_PK. Main field is CoilNumber which is indexed, required, and Yes (No Duplicates). On my main menu I have a button titled "Coils Add/Edit." Clicking that button opens frmCoils which has two buttons of importance: one to...

Solved Not In List event to open Add New Coil Form

Pat - That's exactly the advice I was looking for and it makes sense. And....there is time in the real world to do it. Inspector walks up to mill. Sees coil tag (identifier) and checks to see if coil is already in db or not and - if not - enters new coil - then proceeds with mill inspection...

Solved Not In List event to open Add New Coil Form

Hi all - My current conundrum involves........where to begin. Same place as always I suppose :-) I do inspections of rolled steel coming off of rolling mills. The raw material is coiled steel. It may take more than one coil of steel to finish a job. I've posted about this before recently but...

    Subquery help

Hi JDraw, Thought you might enjoy seeing the SQL that I finally got to work with your assistance - then I have a question :) Here's the code: SELECT tblinspectionevent.datetime, [jobnumber] & [task] & [resource] AS Job, OverRodeBy.firstname & "" &...

Solved If form is opened acFormAdd then make controls visible or not

Would I use that on the "On Load" or "On Current" event of the form being opened?

Solved If form is opened acFormAdd then make controls visible or not

I should likely clarify that the code above is my current workaround for adding a new job from a button on the main form ("Add New Job") which opens a new record in tblJobs and records data for our 3-part job numbers as a new record and then opens frmJobDetails to complete describing the other...

Solved If form is opened acFormAdd then make controls visible or not

Hi All - I have a form, frmJobDetails, where (drum roll please) details of a job are stored, added, reviewed, etc. In other words, the form has many purposes. This form gets called from a variety of other forms: it can be called from the main menu for reviewing job details. It can also be...

    Subquery help

Thanks JDraw - - Because I'm a bit thick headed -and a little bit distracted by current conditions and how they're affecting daily plans at the shop, would you mind showing me some SQL that would concatenate the name fields? I apologize if seem "lazy" - just very grateful for your time and a...

    Subquery help

Hi JDraw, I think I've finally deciphered the logic of the above SQL example you most generously took the time to show me. I do have a question. In your SELECT clause you have "PersonsName.pName, InspectorsName.pname,...."etc. Then in the resultant datasheet you show first and last names...

    Subquery help

That's a great mockup. Thanks!. The only thing that is different from mine is that you have separate tables for coffee servers and inspectors whereas I currently have "coffee servers" and "inspectors" all in the same table. If I'm following correctly that shouldn't matter though - should it?

    Subquery help

Thanks jdraw! Yeah - I do need tblInspectionNotes as well - I just left it out for the moment because I felt it would just add to screen clutter and isn't really an issue. That's the only reason I left it out. That part I get. :) I believe between your advice and Doc's I have enough to make...
