    What's your best/worst joke?

Dug from the archives (where it probably should have stayed ??)! Have you ever wondered who first uttered the phrase "You Gotta Be Shittin Me!”? Well, it just so happens to have originated with the Father of Our country, way back when George Washington was crossing the Delaware river with his...

    Solved Access crash

I checked my virtual memory in Windows 10. It was set for a minimum of 16 megs and maximum was set for 1861. I changed the minimum to 2048 and maximum to 4096. Restarted and put Access 2007 through an intensive session of form changes, creating forms, queries. NO PROBLEMS!

I did all of my reports with queries. Design a query with all the fields required. Set the Criteria to the information needed and produce a form with the fields you need. Add subforms based on other queries if the result requires.

    Solved Access crash

Merry Christmas! Thanks for the replies. Db was created in A2007. No A97 within a 100 miles. Doesn't seem to be any one thing that causes the crash nor the hang problem; opening forms, forms in design view, running queries, queries in design view...

    Barcodefield in my access report

Vin, ean13 is a 13 character barcode. 12 digits and a check sum. I don't think 9 numbers will work. Try entering 3 numbers at the beginning as i think the code auto adds the check sum to make 13.

I also used jean marie's code ean13 for Excel but not for Access. have you tried tweaking the font size and/or the text location? I retired and haven't used Access for several years, but I remember the same issue with my code for upc-a. I changed the text box text location from bottom to top or...

    Searching numbers!

Meltdown, create a query with all the fields you need for the output. In a blank field place Product100: InStr(1,[productcode],"100") in the criteria section insert a >0 symbol. THe instr function gives the position of the first occurence of the string. With the > 0 it gives the location of the...
