    scroll a form using VBA

Hi, I use Access 2010 in Windows 7. Is it possible to use VBA code to move the scrollbar 'box' on a form? eg. scroll to the top of the form or scroll to the bottom.

    Display Last Record

Many thanks. I have tried that but unfortunately this does not work (for me) It sets the focus to the last record OK but displays it on its lonesome at the TOP of the page. I want it down the BOTTOM of the page ie showing the previous n records.

Display 'Total of totals' of a Croos-Tab Query

Hi, I am using Access 2010 in Windows 7. I want to display a Cross-Tab Query on a Form so that the Total of totals in the bottom right-hand corner has the focus AND is at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen when the grid is too big to be displayed in its entirety :confused...

    Display Last Record

Hi, I am using Access 2010 in Windows 7. With a continuous form, is it possible to load the form so that the last record has focus but is at the BOTTOM of the screen? Pre-Windows 7 and with earlier Access I used Sendkey but I gather this is not a good idea anyway.

    Form Captions Arbitrarily Truncated?

I have attached a .PNG file of the tabs. Both navigation pane and property sheet are closed. The forms towards the middle of the tabs have their captions truncated.

    Are you an atheist?

What puzzles me is that if Dawkins really believes what he writes, why he bothers in the first place! Perhaps his 'life is utterly meaningless' line is only intended for people like me who believe in God (jealousy perhaps?). When promoting one of his books in New York, he was asked by a...

    Form Captions Arbitrarily Truncated?

Hi, I am new to Access 2010. The 'Tabbed Documents' option for displaying Forms is ideal for one of my applications but why is it some tab captions are arbitrarily truncated? 'APPOINTMENTS' and 'POST CODES' are fine but 'DOCTORS' and 'SCHOOLS' are both truncated until you select them. WHY...

Question VBA code named 'Database1' not the database name

Hi. I have upgraded a number of databases from Access2000 to Access2010 (yes, quite a jump!) I did this, each time, by creating a blank database in 2010 and copying my objects into it. To my surprise (!) this has gone remarkably well - most of my time has been taken up with replacing Activex...

    Question ACWZTOOLS.ACCDE not trusted!

Hi! I am new to Access World Forum and Access 2010, sorry if this question is old hat but . . . When I place a new cotrol button on a form I get a scary dialog box telling me that ACWTOOL.ACCDE is not trusted. Has my coppy of Access 2010 got its own bug? If not, how can I stop this annoyance...

    highlighting the current record

Great! I have now solved my problem - seeing your example triggered me in the right direction - I had for some silly reason set my CurrentID field to 0 on Load so the condition was initially false. You also saved me code by using the key_down for the textbox rather than the form (Duh!) !

    highlighting the current record

Glad it was helpful. I am in Access 2010 my code is: Main Form: the relevant bit of code is Private Sub Form_KeyDown(KeyCode As Integer, Shift As Integer) Select Case KeyCode Case vbKeyDown If Me.ActiveControl.Name = "txtDate" Then Me.subEntry.SetFocus...

Referring a form's fields in VBA

I would usually use: Me.TheField where TheField is in the RecordSource but not explicitly on the form

Referring a form's fields in VBA

Sorry I am new to this game although old to access - this has happenned so many times to me from Access 2, 97, 2000, 2010(?) in windows 98, 2000, XP, 7! I thought maybe it happened to everyone! Is it just bad practice on my part to refer to fields which don't have a control on the form?

    highlighting the current record

I have a subform in which I want to highlight the current record. I do this by having a hidden field CurrentID into which I copy the record ID when the record gets focus. I then use conditional formatting to light up the record on condition RecordID=CurrentID (for all the visible fields). Works...

Referring a form's fields in VBA

Something I have always wanted to know! Why is it that you can refer, in a vba sub, to a field (that you don't want to see on your form) perfectly happily ... and then one day (maybe you have moved the Db to a different PC)... ***CRASH***, and you have to create a hidden textbox for that field...
