    Not inclined

Sorry to hear that Nikky. I have to say, when you are owed £500 by the current employer for their **** ups over 3 months, and they still havent coughed up, it is somewhat standard practice not to do much. Same rubbish, different day.

LOL, thanks for the words guys, and MrsGorilla, you sound like fun! lol Special it is then, I dont really do the tacky stuff. Yes it does get me going, but I wouldnt want to do that as a gift, so something nice it is for her. I just hope I can get some time away from her in the build up to...

Ladies - Need your help please? Guys dont laugh at me! lol

Ladies, I need some advice, and I hope that this does not breach any rules here. I got married earlier in the year, and as its traditional, within my family, for the husband to buy his wife some nice lingerie for Christmas, I would like to follow that tradition on. Now my question is, do I go...

Changing case of data already in access tables

Ahhh, just got it, wasnt using [] either side of field name. With it set to 3, the text is Always Like This For Capitalisation. Is there a number that would only capitalise the first letter of a sentence? If not, it might look better all round to go with all lowercase characters, but at least I...

Changing case of data already in access tables

I get as far as the update option fine, and enter StrConv(fldname,3) in the Update To section. I have tried replacing fldname with the name of the field, but all I get is what is typed in there. It is probably something so simple its untrue, but I really cant get it to work. I am in awe of...

Thanks for that Brian, at least I know there is a way. I am at a bit of a loss on how to do this, I have never run a update query. How would I run this?

Changing case of data already in access tables

My database is now live within our office and is working fine. The databases which I have imported the data from, where done by my dad, who being old fashioned, used CAPS for everything he typed. So for quite alot of the data, its all caps, and it would be great, but not essential if we could...

Hard drive backup system - simultaneous

Obviously there is Raid1 if you were happy using internal drives. I am not sure there is a way of doing this with externals, the data speed may not be quick enough unless you where using external SCSI etc. As an idea, would using internal drives work, if you placed one within a caddy with sits...

Image Quality when using linked images

Doc, what you say does make sense. It is a good explaination as to what the problem could be. I am relatively happy as the print quality is good, and that is really where it has to be due to making sure the right person gets the paperwork, and some people that work for us find names difficult to...

Image Quality when using linked images

I have updated a report now so it uses the linked image. In preview, the picture is still bad, but when it goes to print, its fine. THought I would mention it in case it was a help.

Image Quality when using linked images

Here is an example. I used a screenshot to capture the 'bad' image. Below is the good image which you can see is fine. The persons head is chopped off for confidentiality reasons, but his coat indicates the issue I have I think.

    Printers

I kept buying printers every 18 months as they kept packing up, print heads got clogged up and didnt work right etc. I got so fed up, I bought a Colour Laser from Epson. Its the C1100, and cost me over here £250. In the 12-18 months I have had it, only 1 or 2 paper jams, litterally, and no...

Image Quality when using linked images

LOL, you are missing the point, my computer is running 32bit colour, its just the image when it is linked looks as though its 16 colours.

Image Quality when using linked images

The images are BMPs, and when embedded within access, they are fine both in the forms and on reports. I ahve not yet tried printing a report, but I have to change them to take note of the difference as when embedded I was using OLE objects, no it is a Image box which is linked. The quality on...

Image Quality when using linked images

http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=108698 I am using the example database to avoid storing pictures in my database, as the size could grow and make the backend slow down. The only thing with it is, the image quality isnt that great. Is there a way to sharpen it up?

    Bt Home Hub - networking

You shouldnt need to use that, I dont use it on mine and my phone charges from the actual hub. The phones own charger that you get is sat on a shelf.

    Bt Home Hub - networking

Mine looked like there was nothing there, but if you look once you have removed the grey plastic bit, you will see some metal contacts, these will connect to the phone base as you will see contacts there too. They are quite small, I was wondering the same a month or two back when I got a hub and...

Blank data causes crash with word bookmarks.

OK solved it The part of chris's code where it just would print a "" if address4 was blank, I actually put the postcode there. Its always going to be address4 that has got the potential to be blank. If Add4 is not blank, it will do a carriage return and then put post code in. So thanks guys...

Peters idea crashes out with type mismatch when there is no data. Chris's idea works without errors, but does not omit the blanks.     Although I am not over concerned with this right now as I was due to be paid today and I havent been so...
