Pipe Delimeted Export won't show field headings

I attached screen shots of the steps I took, DCrake attachment suggest an "EXPORT" wizard, I don't see how to activate that, I can only bing up as an IMPORT wizard, If I choose to manually Export from the menu, there is no wizard..at least not in Acc2007?

Pipe Delimeted Export won't show field headings

I don't follow you...sounds like you are describing the Macro screen and then the Import wizard...I did specify PIPE in the Wizard and include headings?

Pipe Delimeted Export won't show field headings

I'm trying to create a "Pipe" delimited text file using the Transfertext method. what I have done so far is I Exported as a standard "Export Delimited" which creates a CSV. I then used a text editor and Replaced the Comma's (CTRL+H) with the Pipe | .... and also replaced the Quotes with...

    I hate access 2007

Coach, I'm glad you gave me those links, I haven't tested them but this Add-in definitely looks like what I need...in fact it is better than previous versions because it floats outside of Access so I can have it on my second monitor. I'm not Hating Access 2007 so much now :)

    I hate access 2007

This link has a good idea about creating a custom form to display the objects. One thing I noticed with the navigation objects is, if you hover over them...it displays the name of the object you are pointing to...this is redundant and I would bet the intention would have been to display the...

    I hate access 2007

I know I have SP2, but if you are saying there is another special patch after that that doesn't automatically update, then I may not have it...I'll have to look on my laptop later

    I hate access 2007

geez Coach do you have to bust my bubble lol, while I hear what you are saying, for sure the things I was whining about will be memorized...but ( see now you made me complain more)...... No amount of memorization will get me to like the short sited "Navigation Pain", I find it to be a major...

    I hate access 2007

ok maybe I'm having a bad day, I have had 2007 for a few months and I usually muck about and find everything I need, but every once in a while I get thrown a curve ball, and possibly through frustration dig myself into a hole... I just spend about an hour trying to get my report to group...

    trouble with time

Thanks Scooterbug, I didn't even clue into that....even though I had the other variable right :) ....always helps to have a second set of eyes. So it works properly now, but the format expression also helped ( for anyone's Reference).

    trouble with time

I hear what you are saying, but I see no "time" type, the format expression in my query has stripped the time from the date ( which I don't care about), and is giving me the output I need. If you have a VBA solution I'd consider it in the future, but this is working now. thanks

    trouble with time

ok, I put this in my query and it works... Format(qryApptLog_OutBound.[Appt Time],"hh:nn:ss") AS ApptTime

    trouble with time

Hi I'm having trouble displaying time, Access is taking my time and adding the date to it...as Jan 1 1900 What I am doing is taking a selected date ( from form), and then for that date I am generating time slots using a starting value of 7:30 and adding 1 hour by looping 15 times. visually in...

Custom date function returns as text not Date type?

Probably because I over complicated it :) , essentially what it does is I need to make a date correction. The orders are always confirmed next day in the system, so the idea is to subtract 1 day from the shipdate. what I am doing is "subtracting" the day, but if Monday Sub 3 days to make it...

Custom date function returns as text not Date type?

thanks Bob, I get what you mean...I need to declare the function's data type. I don't make a lot of functions so didn't even think about it. In hindsight I remember seeing some examples that had it and I just ignored it thinking it was redundant...lesson learned :)

Custom date function returns as text not Date type?

not sure other than it seems to be a text type...visually the output shows shifted to the right and in Datasheet view if I right click for Filters I don't see the "Date" specific filter options like I do on the other date fields, and also in properties can't select any date formatting. so I did...
