    More noobish FMP-to-Access Education Required

Alrighty. I've created a query and an expression in that query that says this: ="Your book, "& [MainOrderTable]![Book Title]&[Main Order Table]![Book Edition]&" ISBN: "&[MainOrderTable]![ISBN]&"has been adopted as required text in my "&[MainOrderTable]![Year]&" "&[MainOrderTable]![Quarter]&"...

    More noobish FMP-to-Access Education Required

Alright, preparing my final report for this database. (yay) I need to combine some fields and raw text in a report to make a business letter. Easy enough. In Filemaker Pro, one would simply make a "calculation field" and the calculation would look something like this: Paragraph 1: "Your book...

Report showing numerical value where there should be text

Ok, you may learn this about me in the future. When I'm stumped, I'll ask a question. Then, when I ask the question and know I'll get a good response, I get ballsy and start trying things... and sometimes they work. This time it did. I was referencing the ID and not the right field. Clear as...

Report showing numerical value where there should be text

Hello yet again amazing people, *Disclaimer*I'm familiar with database design and have made many a fabu DB with FMP, but an still unfamiliar with the Access versions of DB vocabulary. Ok, this database is nearing completion and I'm just working out the reports. Just one snag: I need to show...

Lock field in form or remove from tab-order?

bah, I found it. Using (" ") in a search for the win! Tabstop setting in the field settings -- set to "no" and you will not cycle through that field.

Lock field in form or remove from tab-order?

My apologies, I should preface my questions with this qualifier: I'm familiar with database design and have made many a fabu DB with FMP, but an still unfamiliar with the Access versions of DB vocabulary. Thus, "disable the controls", however correct, is too vague for me to implement.

Lock field in form or remove from tab-order?

Hello again, all. Thanks for the help with the cascading combo box, but I have another newb question(s) and request for advice. My situation is as such: In one form (MainOrder) I have fields on the left for data to be entered and fields on the right to display information (PubContactInfo)...

    Access Noob question

Yes, but only in the most minor way. My university is holding on to a very old standard of reporting which prof needs how many books for what class (because there's a very old person still in the position -- they don't like new things). The whole database is being created just so whomever uses...

    Access Noob question

Hey all, I'm an access noob, but decently experienced with Filemaker. I learned quickly that they are two very different animals with such a differing vocabulary, I may be in over my head with even the simplest concepts. My problem: I am creating a quicky book order database for some...
