    Spreadsheet Formating/layout?

Hi Jackie, See the attached I have shown how you could split them up, 50 per page and how you can do the more difficult summaries - you may need to adjust the ranges if you do it differently but it should give you some ideas. Ed

    Spreadsheet Formating/layout?

Hi Jackie, Its often a good idea to have any summary calculations a the top of the sheet so that if extra rows are added any subsequent calculations don't get messed up. It sound like it might be an idea to have each 50 rows in a separate sheet. If you do this and have your summaries at the...

    Time problems

Its quite simple Divide the time by the distance and multiply the result by 100 e.g. if cell C1 contains the distance swum in cell D1 put =15*100/C1 - this is the number of minutes to swim each 100 on average Ed

    If statements & countif(s)

The other way to do this is using SUMPRODUCT which is a bit cleaner =SUMPRODUCT(--(B2:B6000=601)*(G2:G6000="Claim")) Ed

    Average with Values and Frequencies

Hi, a crude way to do some of this would be: create a new column C which is Col A value * Col B value. cell B13=Sum(b2:B12) cell C13=Sum(C2:C12) Mode=Max(B2:B12) mean=C13/B13 That gets you two of the analysis you want Ed

Thanks for that Shades. your solution gave me the address and then I had the problem of converting that to an actual cell value which I achieved eventually by using INDIRECT in front of it - problem solved. Thanks again. Ed

I have a column in which one cell will conditonally format to red if certain conditions are met. I wish to take the value of this cell to another cell. I thought that I could use SUMIF based on the colour to achieve the outcome but I don't know how to do this without coding in vba and I...

MIN and MAX OK - I've worked it out for myself, building on your formula The array needed is as below =MIN(IF(Tenders!D5:D79="S",IF(Tenders!E5:E79="AB",Tenders!J5:J79,""))) Thanks everybody Ed

MIN and MAX Hi Shades, You seem to have cracked it - your formula works for both MIN and MAX - thanks very much! Did you have any thoughts about how to introduce a third identifier i.e. to do the same for successful tenders. Ed

    Max and Min

Min and Max Hi Brian, Thanks for that - unfortunately it does not seem to work as (I think) it is picking up the value associated with the identifier in the first line and using that. I have attached the spreadsheet. The idea is to obtain summary information from tenders received or...
