Thank you all for your fast replies....that is wonderful! And appreciated. I believe I was close to making a mountain out of a molehill. Wouldn't it be wonderful if Microsoft would incorporate some of this forums ideas and suggestions also? :D

    Remove apostrophe from names?

I've seen many posts here about how to handle names with an apostrophe in them, but have come up with a slightly different quandary: How do I remove those pesky apostrophe's from a name? MY boss said he doesn't want to waste time coding for the apostrophes, that he'd rather remove the...

    Project tracking??

Don't know if this is the correct forum, but.... Does anyone know of a relatively inexpensive (maybe even free???) Project / request tracking system written in either Access or VB? I ;ooked and looked on the forums here, but couldn't find a thing. If anyone will just point me in a hopefully...

Exporting an Access Report to Excel spreadsheet(s)

Thanks for the reply... will that line of code work also even when a report has a header and footer? I tried a simple macro, using the same idea, and all that came over to Excel was the date line that I have in the header of my report. But...I'll play around with it. :)

Exporting an Access Report to Excel spreadsheet(s)

Thanks for your reply. I hae four reports that I would like to place into four sheets of the spreadsheet. Also, I of course want the values of the report's respective fields to be placed into the respective sheets. As I mentioned, I only am looking for a small snippet of code to point me in...

Exporting an Access Report to Excel spreadsheet(s)

I'm trying to export a group of four reports to an Excel spreadsheet and its workbooks, but having absolutely no luck. Does anyone have a sample piece of code that might show how to export various table fields to a spreadsheet's workbook, then switch to the second workbook to export some more...

    "Floating" height of a report

I got it working, but did not use the Can Shrink property of the text box. I used information I gleaned from a Microsoft Knowledge Base article, QD95390. Works like a charm now.

    "Floating" height of a report

Thanks for your reply, Rich. I had already tried the Can Shrink option, and it appears to not have worked. My report has multiple text boxes in the detail section... one text box each for each of its exception items. The format is somewhat like: HEADER...

    "Floating" height of a report

I am using Access 2003 and Word 2003. I've got some Word documents that my client has been using for a Mail Merge, but in Office 2003, Mr. Gates seems to have drastically changed how Mail Merge workss (or doesn't??). Because of our mailmerge problems, I am redesigning my client's letters in...

How to make colored bars in a report ...?

I know I've seen it somewhere on this forum, but can't for the life of me remember where...... what I want to do is have alternating lines on a report have different colors, so that the report looks like the old-fashioned "greenbar" computer paper. What I'm looking for is a code snippet that...

    Report Date Selection criteria

In particular, thanks to pbaldy for your advice and hints. I think I'm trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill, if you know what I mean. Thanks again!

    Report Date Selection criteria

To Strep21.... No, that was not an exact copy, it was a typo on my part. I didn't hold down the shift key, but thanks for having such good eyes! To Rich..... I was not aware you could put text boxes onto a switchboard form. Are you saying you can handle a switchboard form much like a regular...

    Report Date Selection criteria

True...I agree with you. However, this project makes heavy use of switchboards, and the reports are selected from a switchboard. My thought was to have a form open, where the user would input start / end dates, and when the form closes, write those dates to a table. Then, since there is a...

    Report Date Selection criteria

I've got several reports, some of which report for a selected date range, and others that don't use a date range. All of the reports are fed by their respective queries. In the queries that need a specific date range, I'm using the "Between [Begin Date] and [End Date], which works fine...

    "Compact / Repair problem

Thanks for your reply - it's appreciated! I'll tackle the FE / BE side of the house, since the tables are relatively simple.... the users had made the tables before I came on board, and there are no indexes I am aware of. I appreciate the comments and will keep plugging at it!

    "Compact / Repair problem

I'm doing contract work for a small group of people (about 8 - 10) and quite offten, the database they are using gives them a message saying their database needs compacting and or repairing. The database they use is not large by any means. The people are using either Access 2000 or Access...

    Access 97 to Access 2003

I may be working on a project to conert ACC 97 to ACC 2003 very soon. Is anyone willing to advise in general terms what pitfalls might arise? On top of that, this project might then interface to SQL Server. Comments? Advise? I'm not looking for tiny details or for someone to "do it for me,"...

    dbSeeChanges Error ??

I'm running Access 97 and am in the process of converting my tables to SQL Server 2000. My project has a few forms, and in one form, I had no problems opening a table with the following: Set dbs = CurrentDb Set rst1 = dbs.OpenRecordset("dbo_tblNonSap") However, since I've converted to SQL...
