    Renaming current database file

After landing in this thread after searching the forum, may I toss in for the non-code users such as myself that Access help actually helped with this. Just search for 'rename file' and it walks you through it. I thought I was going to have to live with 'copy of' for the rest of my career. <g>

    sum query changes currency sign

Thanks Rich! Don't ask me how *that* happened...but of course I feel like a total idiot now <g>.

    sum query changes currency sign

Hello! Let me preface my question by saying that I'm just a database user and not someone who knows the coding stuff at all. I also wasn't sure which section this problem belonged in. In short, when I create a query to sum donation amounts from various categories, the dollar sign is changed to...

    Sum all but *that* category

Hello Ian! The field data is stored as 'July' and not a date format. I've tried typing in 'not July' in the criteria section but without much success. I can get a second query where it sums up the total for July as well as a third query which totals the whole year. Perhaps I should be resigned...

    Sum all but *that* category

Thanks Ian and Deborah for your suggestions! I can't say that I've completely understood your suggestions right off the bat, but I'll puzzle over them for a bit. <ponders how to exclude July from a query> I'm just thrilled that you didn't have me writing code! <g> Regards, Datahunter

    Sum all but *that* category

First off, I'm not sure I should be classed as a 'junior' member when it comes to Access. Is there something beyond that? Maybe 'just-fallen-off-the-turnip-truck' newbie without a clue. <g> I have a table of donations with fields: amount, month (entered as the actual name rather than a number)...

    date when record is modified

For the information of any non-programmer people who stumble on this thread, I finally found the solution to the problem (after having to talk to Microsoft). While the me.nameofyourfield = date() is correct, that information isn't entered into the form properties exactly. It involved going...

    date when record is modified

Hello Pat! I've tried your suggestion and I'm still getting the error message, only now it's 'Microsoft Access can't find the macro Me.'. To top things off, now I can't get out of the record back into the design view! Everytime I try the error message pops up. Sigh. Where have I gone wrong...

    date when record is modified

Hi everyone! This is my first post here so my apologies if I haven't followed forum netiquette <g>. Anyways, I have also been trying to resolve the 'update date field' issue for a bit and the solution presented here seemed to be just the ticket. But. The field still doesn't update when I...
