I made some changes to the original db to make it do what you described. I still think there might be a more graceful way to accomplish this but...this will work.

Maybe I am missing something obvious here, but this has given me grief before and is now rearing it's ugly head again: I have reports in my database that are designed for a printer other than my Windows default printer. I need Access to remember where each specific report is designed to print...

You might look at this and get some ideas. It's probably the stupid man's way to accomplish the task but it worked for me...cause I did not know how else. The labels are sequentialy numbered, does not have 1 of 10, 2 of 10 etc. But you might be able to add that piece on your own.

Just a suggestion, and it may not solve your problem as I am having some difficulties in visualizing exactly what you want and what is actually happening: Try setting the report detail properties to can grow - NO - see if that has any effect one way or other

+ Actually I really like the new 2007 version. Once you use it a bit you don't want to go back. How bizarre, it does appear when you print the report, just not in preview or print preview. Kind of messed up.
