    Checking staff against booking date?

Actually makes sense now, I really should take a course in 'pure' VBA as i cobble coding like that together from various sources and it ends up looking so messy!!! I've separated the MsgHead & MsgTail DIM declarations to individual lines, for some reason access complained about them on the same...

Combining fields in report.. easy. Showing text field instead of ID #.... HUH?

Ok, I've changed it to a list box, left the control source as above, changed the row source query to: SELECT EAStaff.[Staff Member], EAStaff.ID FROM EAStaff INNER JOIN Bookings ON (EAStaff.[Staff Member] = Bookings.EAStaff1) AND (EAStaff.[Staff Member] = Bookings.EAStaff2) AND (EAStaff.[Staff...

Combining fields in report.. easy. Showing text field instead of ID #.... HUH?

It appears I was! I've just changed them to straightforward text fields as I can get the form to look up the values and enter into the table, but it still gives me the same trouble.... Combo box on report (tried changing to List Box, all i got for the trouble is a list of names from the Staff...

    Checking staff against booking date?

The fields EAStaff1/2/3 hold the actual name, selected on the form looked up from table EAStaff, field [Staff Member]. I need to check the selected staff after update to make sure they're not already booked elsewhere on that date, hence needing to check all 3 fields as there can be up to 3...

    Checking staff against booking date?

Having read the Help file, it appears to be something like this, but it doesn't appear to work, and i'm not sure what it would say if there's a conflict: =DLookUp([EAStaff1] & [EAStaff2] & [EAStaff3],[Bookings],[Bookings].[VisitDate]=[VisitDate])

Combining fields in report.. easy. Showing text field instead of ID #.... HUH?

Afternoon, I'm banging my head on a wall here with this - i had solved it before but only on single value report controls. I'm combining three/four fields into one on a report, as below: =[EAStaff1] & "," & [EAStaff2] & "," & [EAStaff3] But instead of getting the [Staff Member] field...

    Checking staff against booking date?

Afternoon, An extra feature I need to add to my database is puzzling me a little, yet I know it can be done! Access 2007... When I create a booking, i want to make sure that the staff member i book onto it isn't already allocated to another booking, and alert me with a pop up that says...

Access 2007 - problem with field names

Solved that problem, but now it's displaying all booked staff repeatedly, and doubling up the booking itself - presumably because it's multiple value fields, it's displaying the whole thing instead of just the individual segments of those fields... HELP! JPG showing the problem: As you can...

Access 2007 - problem with field names

Morning all, I'm having real fun with Access '07.... not. I've designed a report that effectively prints a list of bookings based on a user-input date range, grouped by the staff member that's booked to lead. All well and good (did have a minor problem with a multiple value list but sorted...

Button to Open form to add new record with pre-filled field?

Did that, i get the theory behind it and the code etc, but access doesn't seem to. So, in the VB code sheet on access for the click event for that button i have entered: DoCmd.OpenForm(Bookings,acNormal,,,acFormAdd,acWindowNormal,"School =" & Me.[School Name]) to which i'm greeted with I've...

    Default value = math calculation

Tried this, doesn't seem to work!!! Just leaves the field blank, perhaps i'm doing something wrong? Set the default value to =IIf((3.2*[ChildrenNumber])<70,70,(3.2*[ChildrenNumber])) Using Access2007, not sure if it makes any odds.

    Default value = math calculation

Afternoon all, I'm making good headway on sorting out everything that needs sorting ( had a fight with some reports and duplicate field names, sorted that out after a few hours piddling around.....:o).. One of my forms has a cost field in it, and i want this to be automatic. not a problem...

Button to Open form to add new record with pre-filled field?

Morning all, I'm a bit rusty at the moment having been away from databases for some time, and now my job takes me back to them again... a quick question i'm stuck on if I may: I'm working on a bookings database for school visits, and having got almost everything sorted, i have a few...
