Hi guys, I have been using the search box at the bottom of my form next to the record selectors to do searches for records. I would like to find out whether it is possible to make the search box search the subforms on the main form as well as the main form fields? Thanks! VB:)

Cool, I did this: dim record_count as Long Me.Filter = strWhere Me.FilterOn = True record_count = Me.RecordsetClone.RecordCount Me.txtSearchResults.Value = record_count and it worked! Thanks again you are very clever!!

Ta daaaa!! After a whole day of fiddling I finally figured out what was wrong with the filter! There was a piece of code that set the recordsource="" !! I think I figured out how to concatenate everything together it looks much less complicated now..is this the best most efficient way to do...

Haha yeah that would be funny, you too! Tomorrow I will be mostly fixing all the other problems that a change in the requirements has caused! I wish I was an expert!
