    Group by Query

You bet I was! This is how I’ve learned it. No one of the tens of books I‘ve read suggests any other way. And yes, cascading combo’s especially in continuous subforms are a pain in the ass every time you want to use them but, recently found a way to solve this…...

    Group by Query

Of course you have your reasons for saying so, and I have no right to doubt them. I'm not an experienced Access user, I only began designing small databases a few years ago as a hobby, and all books I've read recommended the use of lookup fields in tables. Even Access itself recommends it when...

    No parameter selected

Well it seems I hurried up a bit :( Can't manage to get results from the query when I place parameters by form. It all seems to tumble down. Attached a sample of db in case anyone wants to bother. Thank you.

    No parameter selected

Solved it finally! I used the procedure you suggested but instead of querying by parameter, I queried by parameterID. Someone said that lookup fields are causing trouble in parameter queries and at a certain degree was right. Thank you so much, you've been very helpful.

    Form confusion

Hi, First of all why haven't you done the same with reporters as well, while, as one can easily assume, it's possible to have multiple reporters related to multiple incidents. I think the best way to approach the solution would be to have a combobox in your form for inputting offenders, that...

Thanks for the remark. But, what would you suggest instead ? Every book I've read uses them.

    No parameter selected

Problem is, when I use the OR "*" expression in query parameter, I always get unfiltered results no matter what I choose from the combobox. When I don't use it, everything works fine except the "All" selection which brings up nothing. I attached sample database to help you through checking it...

    No parameter selected

Yeah but, what would be the data in tblFake, 'cause I've tried it and comes up empty when I choose "All" Thanks

    No parameter selected

I have a totals query that shows results in a chart. It takes a parameter to limit results, by a combobox in a form. Parameter in the query includes the OR “*” expression, in case someone wants to get the results unfiltered. The Combobox in the form, has an AfteUpdate event that opens the...

How To Incorporate Selling A Product Option

As far as I figured it out right, you need at least two more tables: tblOptions and tblStock both linked to tblChemicals and tblTransactions. Think this might get things easier for you. Caution: This is the first thing that crossed my mind, and I'm too far from being an expert.Other guys here...

    Date criteria

:) Thank you! Works fine as criteria too! Always helpful! Thanks again

    Date criteria

I have a table with a field TDate (dd/mm/yyyy format). A query with calculated fields is lying on this table. I want to put a date criteria in this query, by a combobox in an unbound form, where the date format has to be “mmmm/yyyy” and has to be updated as new TDates come in. Trying...

    Group by Query

Works fine even with parameters. Thank you so much. So it seems crosstab query doesn't accept parameters and in this case it is not needed at all. Thanks again I'm grateful!

    Group by Query

Well, as you probably have noticed, field Product in tblSales, is a lookup field taking values from tblProducts, and holding ProductID value only showing Product name. Thus, when it comes to the crosstab query, column headings have the value of ProductID (1,2,3,etc), That's a bit annoying and...

    Group by Query

Still nothing doing. I've tried everything, even illogical things, but nothing changed. Something wrong is happening when chart form is about to load. Crosstab query works fine. Transforming it into a chart is a disaster. Maybe I'm too stupid but your hint didn't help. Thank you

    Group by Query

Well, I finally managed to create a Chart based on crosstab data, chart form opens regularly with no parameter in, but, it's impossible to open chart form, after putting the parameter in the crosstab query. I keep getting a message saying : no matter what I do. Help says I should use the proper...
