This is a cut and paste from another thread I responded to. While this will not teach you VBA it is a good way to get to know the syntax. It also allows you to instantly create VBA from already made macros.
--- begin cut and paste ---
One trick that you can use to help you with VBA syntax is...
Mike I am assuming that you seen this thread: Topic: E-mailing with Export Specs
I know that is about doing exactly what you want to avoid but I am not sure how else you would do it.
The last post in this thread from The Doc Man may be of some interest to you:
Topic: Can you export a report...
I took it as a compliment, Fornation. In fact I kinda like the recognition. I don't get a lot of it when it comes to writing code so I will take what I can get.
Thanks!!!!
By the way it would take a heck of a lot of bitchin to offend me.

If you have your make table query built and you are opening the report with an event you can put this in your event procedure to first run the query and then open the report in preview mode.
DoCmd.OpenQuery "NameOfYourMakeTableQuery", acNormal, acEdit
DoCmd.OpenReport "NameOfYourReport"...
Doc Man, I have almost given up on this. I think you are right about not asking the DCount the right question but for the life of me I can't get it to evaluate differently based on the contents of the record. I either get all trues or all falses.
Maybe I am using the DCount completely wrong...
Lucy5 meet Talismanic How do you do? Fornation thinks I am some kind of SendObject expert because it is the only thing in Access I understand.
I am stumped with this one though. It sounds like you are doing everything right. Check the following and post back with more info.
What mail client...
Ok this doesn't answer your question fully but it may get you started in the right direction.
Open any macro and hit the print preview button. A nice report is made with all the macro properties, conditions, etc...
If the properties can be put on a report there must be a way to get them for...
I might be misunderstanding your question but you can use the NZ function , I think it stands for Null Zero. It will give you a blank field but still treat it as a 0
Total = (Nz(.FirstField, 0) + Nz(.SecondField, 0)
To do this in VBA the code would look like this:
DoCmd.SendObject acReport, "ReportName", "RichTextFormat(*.rtf)", _
"EmailAddress", , , "OptionalSubject", "OptionalText", False
.RTF (Rich Text Format) is usually associated with Word so if you select that from the drop down list, Word should open your reports.

The paremeter value will come up if the field asked for in the Docmd is not present on the report. Or there may be a field on the report that is not in the date source (table, query).
Job numbers are actualy alphanumeric like this K5377-
I tried it like
If DCount("[Class]", "Rates", "[JobNo]='" & Me![CLASS] & "'") > 0 Then
MsgBox "Found match"
Else
MsgBox "No match"
End If
Now it is evaluating to false each time because I keep...
I am having trouble getting this DCount to work right. Here is the critera that I am trying to check for and how.
Tables name is Rates
Fields inside table are JobNo, Name, Time and Class
In the form I am working with I want to do a Dcount when txtPW = "Y" and the Class is not "Nor". I know...
I was trying to put together a demo to work through this but I ran out of time. I found this buried in the help file and it may get you going in the right direction.
and this,
HTH!
I assume that means you have it working now.
Here are a few more things to know:
1. To send the mail without user intervention just change the True to False.
2. To remove the "Optional" text I put in there just remove everyting between the ,'s.
3. You can use fields from the form in place of...
Just put the code I posted in place of the E_mail.HyperlinkAddress = "mailto:" & Me![E-mail address]
The Docmd.SendObject should open your default mail program and then place the email address that you have in [E-mail address] in the To: field of your mail program.
I wrote it using your field...
