To open a second DB - Access 2013.

I am really sick and tired of this goddamn problem: I did not ask you to reproduce anything: I want to now the structure of a register key!!! I have spent 3 days with people who know things that they might know if I give then my height and weight. If you don't know what is a register key, why...

To open a second DB - Access 2013.

64 bit, desktop app. Before I was using 2007. The app was switching between components; under 2013 automation errors prevented this. As I said, the problem is MS: Office 365 was improperly activated. Thanks, JLC.

To open a second DB - Access 2013.

Hi vbaInet! It says:"Examine the LocalServer32 key of the CLSID key for the path. ". Alas this key doesn't exist on my PC. Good day, JLC.

To open a second DB - Access 2013.

Hi vbaInet! I think I found why automation fails: none of Office components are defined in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID keys!!!! As usual, every one knows that keys must be present (path should be checked) but no one explains its structure. Do you know how they can be created? Good day, JLC.

To open a second DB - Access 2013.

I am spending too much time on my computer: totally forgot it's not card evening! It's hockey time ( Chicago and Tampa tied 1,1). It's totally crazy hockey - goals scored galore and Tampa goalie left the last game with 'no injury' reported but won anyway. Tonight its in Chicago: hoooooo...

Turned off then back on: no problem!!! The solution is clear (almost) and I will try it later. A crowd is coming in for playing cards. Anyway, I will let you know... Many thanks, JLC

To open a second DB - Access 2013.

Hi vbaInet! It is absolutely clear that MY version of Access 2013 is screwed! Since I subscribed to Office 365, all kinds of strange things happened: I had 2007 and it lost his help functionality. Here and then, opening an app would first display the standard Access open form then, seconds...

    Question "Check Out" Record

Hi vbaInet! What was not explicitly mentioned in my post his the necessary presence of 3 objects: a project combo and 2 buttons - one to consult and an other one to modify the project. So you only need a query for the combo (1 transfer) and one transfer for any project selected. If I had...

    Grabbing Web Information Into Database

Hi Darbid! Reading your #9, I noticed that I was picky. I am presently in a bad mood because I am having all kinds of problem since I switched to Access 2013 (Office 365)! If a site owner use HML format for his info display, well too bad. Here, in Québec, many company display info that...

    Question "Check Out" Record

Hi vbaInet! Hey, wait a second, 100 $CDN is £53!!! you are trying to fool me... Network traffic is easy to monitor. So if a given system is overloading network traffic, THEN it's time to modify it. My attitude has always been: best formal solution. Too heavy? OK let's adapt to the...

    Question "Check Out" Record

Hello vbaInet! If I were living in UK I would put 100$CDN on this one! If the operation is done correctly, how ever fast the user is, he would never notice anything!!! Don't forget that thanks to the huge RAM storage, a major part of one's DB is actualy in mem. Lately, I have run a test on a...

    Grabbing Web Information Into Database

Darbid When I propose a solution, I know what I am talking about! I suggest this but I didn't try. Amazon - minimal cost: how much? dunnow. And how do you read the XML file? dunnow. So...

To open a second DB - Access 2013.

Hi vbaInet! Since I am stuck with Access 2013, I am afraid it wont be that easy. I am retired (and happy to be) from IT and I do not have Access to well equipped PC. Anyway, I will probably check that Monday... Thanks, JLC.

To open a second DB - Access 2013.

It did not create the instance! That's what the error message says: "Automation error". That was my first impression but I checked the taskbar details and found that it actually creates the access application but a possible communication error seems to occur! I have attached a capture of...

To open a second DB - Access 2013.

You are right! A stray Access was created: I killed it and NeoTestFE could be opened this time... Here the full function I run: Public Function OpenDB() Dim app As Access.Application Dim xDB As Database Dim strPath As String strPath = ".\TestDB.accdb" Set app =...

To open a second DB - Access 2013.

Hi VBANet! No. I should have sent a new post. You will notice that I added the error number... The error sort of lock TestFE using an unknown user. Restarting the PC didn't change that but since all roads leads to Roma, I found a way to open it. Sometimes Access acts like a schizophrenic...
