    Query calculation

First let me say that I am a novice Access user. I am trying to set up a query so I can create a report for the people who will be in our back room sending equipment to different camps. We ask the campers to answer an online questionnaire that includes their shoe size and pant sizes (S, M, L...

    Criteria, queries, expressions

Sorry, this is all new to me. (Not that it is the way to go, but I did give 2 diff. names to the diff. fields.) I've not used Builder before or the Iif function!

    Criteria, queries, expressions

Hi there, Thank you for your response! I'm sorry to say that it does not make sense to me. :( If the pant size is S,M,L, XL (I goofed on that before), then I want to add 1 size to the shoe size. If the pant is XXL or XXXL, I want to add 2 sizes to the shoe size. I had set up two new fields--...

    Criteria, queries, expressions

First let me say that I am a novice Access-user. Let's say that I want to make a report to use as a packing list for equipment to be sent to different camps, based on information we get on each camper. We ask the campers for their shoe size and their pant size. The information is automatically...

    Thank you.

    Add/expand page in report

In reports and in forms? I'm still not sure though, how all of the information would be shown. In the example you showed displayed, would all of those textboxes be related to one record? And each record would be listed underneath each other? Thanks!

    Add/expand page in report

Thank you. My apologies--I am still learning in Access and am not familiar with stacking controls and codes!

    Add/expand page in report

Thank you for your response. I am sorry to admit that I don't understand. And does this allow it to grow to more than one page? If I export it Excel, wouldn't I have to (re)format the Excel spreadsheet every time? Does it mean there is no way to add a page to a report? Do you know if the text...

    Add/expand page in report

Thank you, but it does not fit! Each record has so many fields that go across that they span 2 page widths (now need 3 page widths). And there are so many records that they go onto 2 pages vertically. When I am in design or layout view, that last 5 or 6 fields on the right all squish together...

    Add/expand page in report

I have a report that needs to show about 20 different fields from 24 records. I have it set up in landscape view, with one record per line (running horizontally). It allows me to show about 15 of the fields, spanning two pages (wide). I don't know how to add a third page to show the remaining...

Sorting Queries, Reports, and Forms together alphabetically

Thank you for your prompt & helpful response! Actually, while fooling around with this, I found that right-clicking on all of my Unassigned Objects, I had the option to Sort By . . . and that ordered everything in my Navigation Pane how I wanted it!

Sorting Queries, Reports, and Forms together alphabetically

Is it possible in the Navigation pane, to have Queries & Reports listed/mixed together alphabetically? For example, if I have queries named Animal1, Bird2, Tree3 and also reports with the same name, in the navigation pane, instead of having the Query section with these queries and then a Reports...

Finding duplicates using last name & first 3 letters

Thank you. Two questions, please: 1. I am still getting (for example) Buster, Jon Buster, Sam Buster, Will 2. I don't know what you mean by: Join this back to your source table to extract the full names. (I am pretty new at this!). Will this resolve my #1 above?! Thank you!

Finding duplicates using last name & first 3 letters

I need, please, to create a query that will pull duplicate names out of my db. I would like it to pull all names that have: duplicate LastName and duplicates of the first 3 letters of the FirstName. For example, if I had the names: Bland, Abe Brown, Abe Brown, Bill Buster, Jon Buster...

    Finding partial matches using SQL

Again, I thank you for your help and consideration. I have to confess that I don't see the correlation. Again, this whole SQL thing is completely new to me! Much appreciated . . .

    Finding partial matches using SQL

Thank you! That definitely narrows the list down. However, I am still getting LastNames that show up only once, and first three letters of all FirstNames, irrespective if they there is more than one. For example, I will be getting back: Brown, Joe Buster, Abe Buster, Bill Buzy, Jon...

    Finding partial matches using SQL

THANK YOU so very much for all of your help and patience! When I type that in, I get the message: Syntax error in ORDER BY clause. If I could respectfully ask for further guidance?

    Finding partial matches using SQL

When I ran the query, I got EVERY name, meaning every LastName and the first 3 letters of every FirstName!

    Finding partial matches using SQL

    Finding partial matches using SQL

THANK YOU, THANK YOU Both!! I did get the query to run! Yay! That's the good news. The not-so-good news is that it is running all LastNames and ALL FirstNames (but using just the first 3 letters of the FirstNames. I was hoping to have it be that it would pick up only those names that had...
