Sorry, the line of code that says: FROM coredata WHERE ((([coredata].[Student]) XXX [Forms]![frmKeyword]![Keyword])); Does in fact read: FROM coredata WHERE ((([coredata].[Student]) Like [Forms]![frmKeyword]![Keyword]));

I want to impliment some kind of facility into my database that will flash up a warning if a user enters data into a certain field that is equal to or like data that exists in the same field in other records. A search of these forums gives me a few hints about duplicate warning record messages...
