Think i'm being completely useless!! Tried the [orderID] .. and nothing seems to have happened!! then i tried looking at the combo box ...but couldn't see an 'order by' option.... so couldn't find the 3 dots......... am i missing something too obvious for anyone to mention!!!??:confused:

I posted a question because i needed help. No one could help me in the forms forum. so rather than be rude and suggest you don't know how to do it. I asked a similar question in the macros forum. hoping someone who was really good in macros might spot the problem. 'i don't need to explain...

this is why....... the problem with the replies in the form forum (not that i have to explain myself) was simply that the first bit of code i was kindly given..threw up the error ....'no macro' ??? And your helpful hint...i've only just seen....seems to..yes open the form on a blank view...

does anyone know how to build a simple macro...so that on opening a form you open a blank (next) record, rather than the current record?
