    Good Morning All,

And good yesterday to you! :D It's 11:53am and we're heading for 33C last I heard (not that I notice in my airconditioned place of employment). A big improvement over the weekend's 39C!

Halfwit Newbie: Normalising and linking staff database

At the minimum, add a numeric ID column to RotaWeek. Maybe the other tables as well. Or completely restructure it... SurgStaff: about right how it is. Maybe add an ID number for easy linking. I'm assuming this holds surgeons & anaesthetists, with the Specialty field telling you which they...

    VBA user wondering about .NET...

hahahaha oh that's funny... :D They do include a conversion tool (with VS.NET Pro at least, not sure about other versions). I tried converting a fairly small application from VB6 to .NET/2005... I ended up rewriting it from scratch. Yes, there are similarities. Yes, knowing older...

    ASP and PHP

I believe some big corporations use some variety of Unix for their webservers, so that would be more likely to have PHP than ASP.

    Relationship Question

The relationship looks OK What data is in there initially, and what are you adding? If there's another IOrderDetail record with the same OrderID and IProductID then you should get an error. If it's just one or the other then it should be fine. Hang on, just had a thought... when you created the...

print report pages 1 by 1

Depending on the printer, you can set it to treat manual feed as a separate cartridge, ie you tell it to print from manual feed and it will wait until there is paper in manual feed to print on. I believe printer settings are saved for each report, so if you set it to use manual feed, it will...

    Abandonware Campaign

You did read the bit where Freespace 2's license agreement allows for copying to "friends and acquaintances"? I'm sure you're the "acquaintance" of someone hosting the disc images for download ;) (I heard a theory that they put the EULA from the demo on the full version by mistake... silly them...)

    Abandonware Campaign

Depends on the copyright laws in your country. I think most places it is illegal, just the company who owns the rights to the game either doesn't exist anymore, or doesn't care anymore, so is unlikely to take action (though they could if they chose to).

I want an HDTV ... now what?

Quite some time ago... think it was early 90's I saw a few shop demo ones. The picture looked kind of washed out, it had a fairly restricted viewing angle, and the most horrendous burn-in I've ever seen on a TV. The only thing it had going for it was size, IMHO. But of course they have...

I want an HDTV ... now what?

I hadn't heard of DLP before Vass mentioned it, so I did a few minutes research... it's the current generation of rear-projection TVs? (and projectors) How do they compare quality-wise to plasma & LCD? I know the older rear-proj screens are utter crap compared to a CRT, but these new ones sound...
