Frontend - Backend Databases Security question

After you have it secure, make a shortcut to the database, and specify the workgroup file in the command string. (Look up "access commandline") Then, in Workgroup Administrator, set your workgroup to the default. That way, you can open unsecured databases without prompting, can open secured...

    A Father’s Bragging Rights.

Well, the stereotype is that they're very fond of their drink... and while no generalisation is 100% accurate, stereotypes have to have at least some truth in them to become stereotypes in the first place. Besides, look who's talking Mister "All Americans are gun-loving warmongers"!

Update Order Info based on Quote Info

Yes, either :) Actually, more likely an Append query (I'm assuming you'll be creating a new order, not updating an existing one) Append to Orders table, with criteria as matching the current record key

Frontend - Backend Databases Security question

If you assign permissions on the backend using the same workgroup (MDW) file, doesn't it use the same user credentials for both?

    Removing spaces from cells...

An alternative is LTrim - trims whitespace off the left (ie start) of a string So it doesn't matter if it's got one or 100 spaces at the front. If you want to remove the spaces at the end, use RTrim, and if you want to remove at both ends, just use Trim.

    Dancing With The Stars

We have a local version here. Have they done a "Celebrity Survivor" in other countries? (the celebrity part is a bit of a stretch, I think I recognised one of the people on there as having been on a soap some years ago) It was on before a show we watch, so I've seen the last few minutes of most...

    A Father’s Bragging Rights.

My girl's 5.5, loves reading - she's up to level 14 in her school readers, which from what I understand is 1-2 years ahead of the average :D She learnt how to use a mouse at about age 3. She can tie her own shoes, most of the time ;)

Best one liner in a 'cooler thread

Yep, seem to be a lot of good one-liners in the political forums... I guess it partially makes up for all the politics in the 'cooler... http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=535918&postcount=455

    could any one help me

What to buy? Ask him what he wants. If he likes Halo, an obvious choice would be halo 2 (I think it's on the PC now?) Other similar games are FEAR, Doom 3, Quake 4 There's also free games - FEAR Combat, America's Army - these are multiplayer-only, so require internet connection Whatever you...

Autoexec macro - error on RunCode

Nope, doubleclicking the MDE file directly. Cryptic and misleading error messages... I did try installing the MDE on several PCs with only the Access runtime, before I came across the error on this PC. They would start the MDE successfully, then give an error later when an event fired. I had...

Autoexec macro - error on RunCode

If that was the case I'd expect the MDB to give errors as well? All the references are there, not sure if they're at the same paths... will check it out. edit: paths are all the same. One reference has the filename capitalised on one PC and not the other, but that shouldn't matter.

Autoexec macro - error on RunCode

(edit: forgot to say, I'm using Access 2003) I have an Autoexec macro that uses RunCode to call a VBA function. It works fine on one PC, in MDB or MDE. On another PC I'm trying to run it on, it works fine as a MDB but gives an error when I open the MDE version: "The expression you entered has...
