    Autonumber question

Mind if I piggyback a question? I have a similar situation, but am having some difficulty with it. I was asked to create a db for a form we have been filling out by hand here at work. There are a ton of boxes, so I have broken it up into 3 sections - 3 separate tables that come from a form...

Different versions of Access causing Crash?

Gotta tell you, I really dig that opening the .ldb file with notepad...I didn't realize you could do that! That's too cool. Thanks again! ps - I must be honing in on it (knock wood)...it only crashed once today

Different versions of Access causing Crash?

Yes, everyone has access (no pun intended) because it is on a common drive with no restrictions. It most likely is stemming from improper shutdowns, although I have timers that will force forms and eventually the program itself to close automatically. I had people leaving it open 24/7...

Different versions of Access causing Crash?

OK - I came in again today to a crashed database. The users swear that no terminal has A2K on it, so they don't think that's the problem. It just keeps going down, and the .ldb file NEVER closes. Our computer department isn't "authorized" to maintain Access, so I can't ask them for assistance...

Different versions of Access causing Crash?

Ugh - that's what I was afraid of. Well, since it's already split, I'm that much ahead of the game there, but I have no idea how many terminals the front end is actually running on, or which version they're running. Guess it's time for a field trip out on the factory floor. :p Thanks for...

Different versions of Access causing Crash?

Hello All, I am in a pickle here, and could use some of your sound advice. I have a multi-user Access 97 db that was just introduced to the users recently. It is housed on one of the network servers here, and is set to open as "shared" for the default with no locks. It is a duplicate of...

    Rogue Code - please help

I followed Travis's instructions and found it in Word, made the deletion, and it corrected it across the board in all the Office programs that I checked. Very interesting little trick, that one! Again, I thank all of you for your assistance in finding the problem. Cheers, Ceejay

    Rogue Code - please help

Solved!! Ha! Y'all are BRILLIANT! Yes, indeed, someone had set up an "autocorrect" that changed the person's name. When I originally asked him if this was happening in Word or Excel, he told me no, and I never verified it myself until now. Shame on me! Anyway, next time I will know about...

    Rogue Code - please help

Hi, Thanks for all your suggestions. I work the graveyard shift, so my opportunities to get on and check out possibilities are a little off what most consider "regular schedule." I am here now, and plan to give that terminal a good looking over based on what you've mentioned. Oh, yeah...Ceejay...

    Rogue Code - please help

I was thinking that maybe someone had either inadvertently or purposely made a copy of the database, and that the shortcut on that machine was connected to it instead, but I checked it myself and it was correct. I then replaced it anyway just to be sure. When I figured out that this was...

    Rogue Code - please help

How do you mean, old programmable keyboard? It looks like a standard style keyboard to me, but I suppose it could have options I don't know about. It is a "Dell QuietKey" keyboard.

    Rogue Code - please help

Hi, and thanks. It is a split db, but both ends are accessible to anyone who wishes to find them. Front end appears on the users terminal via a desktop shortcut, but back end resides in the same folder as the front end on a common drive of the company server. Terminals are regular, fully...

    Rogue Code - please help

Hi, I've got a strange one here and I could use some assistance. I have a database in a multi-user environment run on several terminals. Someone has entered code somewhere on one of these terminals that causes one of the user's last name to change to a gibberish word when he selects it or...

    Creating a Calendar

Calendar Output help I visited Roger's site - lots of stuff there, but I couldn't figure out which item contained the help with trying to use a calendar to show values returned. Could anyone direct me to the proper file? Thanks in advance, Ceejay
