    Normalisation

aye. that all makes sense. but i'm sure that i definitely need the assessment dates in a separate table. One thing that confuses me though, is that in the relationships window it keeps putting tblResults_1 in. Why does it do that!?

    Normalisation

Following on from a post yesterday "Strange Things Happen" to which Mile-o-Phile gave me a link to a normalisation thread he was involved in. Read the thread, understood the concept, so then had a look at my tables. They all seem to work fine, so that left me  lol. From what I can...

Brilliant, cheers for that boys. btw Rich, the assessments are in a different table, was just the student details i was having the problems with. I'll get onto the normalisation route now Mile-O

    Strange things happen

So its sporadically creating duplicates? that makes sense. So i guess what I should do is hold all the students details on the main form, then keep the assessments and suchlike in the tabbed panes and it should all be ok? Thanks guys, much appreciated:D

    Strange things happen

Well, the main (frmStuDetails) holds all the assessment, assessment fees and personal details, etc. I just wanted to have the student name, ID and so on at the top whilst the user could browse through the rest of the details in the tabbed panes without losing sight of who they were looking at...

    Strange things happen

lol, phenomenon! yeah no problem. The table is tblStudentDetails. The form frmStuDetails, and then the subform frmStudentDetailsSubForm which both read from the aforementioned table. Cheers :D

    Doesnt show all records!!!

Hi all. I have a report which is basically an invoice, notifying students of the amounts they need to pay in order to resit a failed exam. The query I have brings up all failed exams. Thats fine. In the report however, it will only bring up the 1st person who has resits. So basically what I...

    Query Half fixed

I have a query running off a crosstab query. When openin in a from its fine, but if opening as a subform i get 'You can't use a pass-through query or a non-fixed-column crosstab query as a record source for a subform or subreport I've sorted this by setting (fixing) the column headings. But...
