    counting records or statistics

Hi, I'm making a statistics page for a student database. It will hold information such as the amount of applicants, amount accepted, how many obtained first class degrees, etc, etc. I'd like to know how you can count these occurances and display them in a report please. Thnksalot, Lee

    Incrementing numbers in a query

hi there, I have a query (funnily enough) of around 175 records, i would like to give each record a number starting at 300. But i cant be bothered to do it manually. I know tables have auto numbers, but how would i get this done in a query?

sorry I'm probably confusing you now! Not one of my cleverest days I'm afraid! TTID can be any number, random integers, which mostly are 235, 300 - around that mark. With reguard to the groups: StudentData.Group 1 2 3 4 5 TimeTable.Group 1 2 3 4 5 LG - as in LG doesnt have a group no to...

that all makes sense, and I can see how it would work - but TTID is a simple number, guess it just dictates the entry in the table. That seems to stop the query you gave me from running...

i think i know what you mean, but without the criteria the query wont work - because it actually needs the groups to run and display the data... :S

    SELECT DISTINCTROW StudentData.StudID, [Surname] & ", " & Firstword([Forenames]) AS FName, TimeTable.Group FROM StudentData INNER JOIN TimeTable ON StudentData.Group = TimeTable.Group WHERE (((TimeTable.TimeTableID)=[forms]![StudentAbsence]![TTID]) AND ((StudentData.Status) In ('R','T'))) ORDER...

Hi, I have 2 tables: Student, and TimeTable. There are 5 groups of students numbered 1-5, and a group LG, containing all students. Student only contains groups 1-5, whereas TimeTable also contains LG. Currently, I have no problem in displaying the numbered groups, but there is no sign of LG. I...

    Query confusion

Yeah sorry it wasn't very clearly explained. The field name is 'ModuleCode' - 'FC' etc. are all entries in the field Also 'Group' is a field name, with corresponding int values. So i need (for each customer) the value where 'ModuleCode' ='FC', copied into 'ModuleCode' ='BLP', etc, etc... -...

    Query confusion

My posts seem to be getting more and more retarded... Say I have 3 different groups, "FC", "BLR" and "CON": FC has been allocated a value for all customers, and I would like to copy that value into BLR and CON, again for all customers. Oh yeah, the groups are all in the same table, if that...

    Duplicate Records

OK, I'm sure I should know this, and I'm sure it should be easy. How do i stop (or at least invoke an error dialog) when duplicate values (In this case group number, time, or room number) are entered into my forms??? Just so no rooms can be double booked, if you catch my drift... Please don't...
