    Syntax adding + 1

BBryan, I am still not sure I understand what you mean with the AA and AB. But for your specific example of the Rtg-05, then I think you could do like this: Me.RtgNo = "Rtg-" & Format(Val(Right(Me.LastRtgNo))+1,"00") See if that helps point you in the right direction.

    Syntax adding + 1

BBryan, What does "next text number" mean? You really need to give us some more to go on here - my clairvoyant assistant has the day off so I'm having to rely on normal logic. So if RtgNo is "Rtg-04T1" then next is "Rtg-04T2"??

Adding VB module to command button

Will, I think you are talking agbout VBA, not VB. These are two different (but related) creatures. When you "add a command button, click on properties, events tab and then choose code builder", then you should end up seeing something like this: Private Sub TheButtonName_Click() End Sub...

    Really? Why is that?

    Syntax adding + 1

BBryan, Are RtgNo and LastRtgNo the names of controls on your form? Bound controls? If so, I see nothing wrong with your code (although I would normally always follow the convention of qualifying controls with Me. as in: Me.RtgNo = Me.LastRtgNo + 1 So, what does "is not right" mean, in...

    DoCmd.MoveSize

lmcc, Yes, that is absolutely the way I would do it. Very quick and easy. If that doesn't put it exactly where you want it, then just adjust the figures and try again until you get it right.

    DoCmd.MoveSize

lmcc, There probably is a way to do it, using a Windows API call of some sort - I don't know the details. But otherwise you should be able to get it pretty right by a bit of experimentation. 1cm = 567 twips. Give it a try and see where it ends up. Rinse and repeat.

    Is there a way

    Nicolette, Nearly. Try it like this: Private Sub Form_Current() Me.Caption = "Customer: " & IIf(IsNull(Me.FirstName) And IsNull(Me.LastName), "New Customer", Me!FirstName & " " & Me!LastName) End Sub

    Access/Trust Center problem

Kayak, Yes, you should be able to open an MDB from an earlier Access version in Access 2007. I was just trying to get a more complete picture of what we're working with. ANyway, yes if you can let us have a look, I think that will be the next step. Thanks.

How to assign jobs from 'staff-tbl' and 'job-tbl'.

Captgnvr, The correct answer to your question will depend on whether there can be more than one staff assigned to any given job/emergency.

    I have decided

Nicolette, My answer here will be incomplete. One reason for this is that there are many ways to approach this, and which is right for you is not something that I or anyone else here has enough information to decide upon. I can say that a very common design would have your OrderDetails form...

lmcc, Check out the Help in Access for the DoCmd.MoveSize method, or the MoveSize macro action.

    batch import help .csv

Tina, I think the best way is to import them into a temporary "holding" table as text data as a first step, and then use a query to append the records to the correct table. In your query, I think you will get the right answer if you do like this: DateTimeField...

    Access/Trust Center problem

Kayak, I'm sorry, I don't know what the problem can be. But it now appears we have eliminated it being a Trusted Locations issue! :) Did you actually convert the application to Access 2007 format, or is it still an earlier version trying to run under Access 2007? Are you able to zip and...

    Access/Trust Center problem

Kayak, It is no doubt possible to set the Desktop itself, or a folder on the Desktop, as a Trusted Location in Access. But this seems to me, quite frankly, to be a very loosey-goosey arrangement. My question is whether you can put the application onto a regular folder within your C: drive...

    Access/Trust Center problem

Kayak, I don't understand why you need the application in your Desktop. Can't you put it in a proper folder, set that folder as a Trusted Location, and just have a desktop shortcut to open the application in its correct location?

    On Open event not working.

Rob, It appears from the SQL of the query that the NCR ID value requested would have to exist in all these tables: NCR Section A NCR Section B NCR Section C NCR Section C2 NCR Section E NCR Section F Maybe more! Apart from the fact that this indicates a poorly designed database (yes, I know...

    Filtering the impossible...

Sorry to butt in here. Just to clarify... should be "VBA uses the mm/dd/yyyy format for dates". If you're talking SQL as in queries, there's no hassle, the regional settings will dictate.

How to print duplicates of one label?

Bosve, Jeff is correct (of course!) Note that this is the exact same advice that I gave a few posts back, where I said: "In the design of the query, in the Criteria of the ArtikelNR column, enter like this: [Forms]![frmMogel]![ArtikelNR] Sorry, I thought you had done that already. ;)
