Pulling together data on a form for combo box

Hopefully you get the basic idea from what I've attached. The combo box can be found under the command tab. The combo box is pulling part of the correct information, but not all of it.

Pulling together data on a form for combo box

I'm always trying to simplify something before making the underlying program more difficult. So that's why I'm trying everything I know before going for the obvious fixes. As for the Yes/No box, as this is a military database, the yes/no option will suffice for anyone as we have no manager...

Pulling together data on a form for combo box

I tried something different to see if maybe it would work. I've got a Yes/No box set up for people who will be supervisors. Then I've got a query established to filter out who is in fact a supervisor. From that, I've got a combo box pulling the information off of that query. Everything...

Pulling together data on a form for combo box

I wasn't meaning the website was in a foreign language, but to me, getting re-familiarized with Access is like trying to understand a foreign language.

Pulling together data on a form for combo box

I'm hitting a roadblock now. I'm looking at the site you posted a link to and everything is coming off as it was a foreign language. Also, one thing I forgot to mention, all four columns of information need to be able to be displayed in a report.

Pulling together data on a form for combo box

Thanks for that info. I will play around with it and see if I can get it to work the way I want it to. I've been out of the Access training loop for a little while so I'm a bit rusty on everything.

Pulling together data on a form for combo box

I'm trying to establish a combo box pulled from data being collected on the same form. I know this can be done, I just think I'm messing something up somewhere. So far, I've got the table (tblPersonnelData) established for the form (frmPersonnelData) and another table (tblSupervisor)...

    Help with IsNull function

Wayne, The formula is working fine, I'm just having a problem with the line of code that opens up a specific report. Leigh, What do you mean it's all too vague?

    Help with IsNull function

Ok, I'm back with another problem related to this. I don't know why I didn't try before, but it wasn't really at the top of my to-do list. When I open up a specified report tied to each record, it won't print. It shows that it printed, but it doesn't in fact print. I changed the coding...

    Help with IsNull function

I do have one more question though. I'm wanting to have a field as a drop-down menu. Within that drop-down, I have a couple options to choose from. What I want to do is whenever one of the options in the drop-down is selected, I want for it to automatically populate two other fields with...

    Help with IsNull function

Call me crazy, but I actually think I attached my head today. When I created a new button, I noticed something I should've noticed last week. I wasn't using the Private Sub and End Sub. I was just copying and pasting that code in with nothing else there. This time, I cut everything else out...

    Help with IsNull function

Will do. I think I know what it was. That VBA code was laced in somewhere it shouldn't have been and I think that was restricting the expression to run properly. Maybe, maybe not. Whatever the case, thanks for the assistance!

    Help with IsNull function

As far as the VBA code goes, do you think that the fact I'm working off of a computer with oodles of restrictions will limit that code from working? I know when I ran it earlier I had it display help for it and it said that I'm not running the latest Jet patch. Maybe a possibility?

    Help with IsNull function

Leigh, I used the above post at first, then I wanted to add a couple different fields in order to have it displayed as it is on the actual document.

    Help with IsNull function

    The exact expression is: =[SHORTPLA]&""&[SHORT_TYPE]&" "&[INST_NO] & ("." + [SERIES_NO])

    Help with IsNull function

Leigh, Still an error whenever I try to run that code. I'm going to try it at home and see if I get anything different. I'm on a government computer, so I might be restricted somehow. Also, I had this as a control on my form "=[SHORTPLA]&""&[DIR_TYPE]&" "&[INST_NO & ("." + SERIES_NO)]", but...

    Help with IsNull function

Ok, thanks for the help. I really do appreciate it! I'm a little bogged down with work right now, but I will try to put this in either today or Monday.
