Default Values for Multiple records on form

Are your studentID's assigned by you (last name, ssn#, etc) or are they autogenrated on entry?

    Confused on form auto-poulate

The basis of this system is an Escrow tracking system. Each file (escrow#) is unique and the PK for my Details, Clients, and Concessions table. Details is working OK, but "concessions" is our terminology for builder rebates, construction upgrades, etc. It is possible for each file to have up to...

    Web Access Page on CD

Will the CD be the data source for this page? Will the data ever change, or is it fixed? CD data is RO by nature, as the CD cannot be rewritten (unless it is CDRW running off a burner drive)?

    Stop Rounding!

As sad as it sounds..I have had that same problem...and only changing the field to TEXT has worked for me. I had the problem with percentages...it kept rounding up, but having it text didn't make a difference for me..so I went with it. STILL looking for the proper way

Default Values for Multiple records on form

When you say open a form with multiple records, do you mean you want every child in your class visible at once (or something like that) How are the default values calculated. Do you mean bring them forward from a previous day?

    Confused on form auto-poulate

So you're saying that the way I have it now (concessions as a separate table linked via file numbere) is incorrect and I should have it where every single instance of a concession should be its own record (a file number coulf have 6 or 7 different records associated wiith concessions)?

    Confused on form auto-poulate

I am wondering if subfomrs are appropriate in the manner you suggested, as each record is unique and would involve only a SINGLE subrecord. Each sub-record is simply an account of certain rebates that are attached to a file. These rebates are based on an individual, file-by-file basis. Your...

    Confused on form auto-poulate

I am also confused on the "normalization" concept. I have several other table that hold lookup values that are/could be used in multiple records (State name, file status, etc.) Is that the correct line of thought for normalization?

    Confused on form auto-poulate

My database is fairly simple and consists of 3 forms for the entire process: 1. Client information User inputs - file # (primary key), last name, first name 2. File Sumarry - conatains all other fields, with the exception of the 3rd forms fields 3. Concessions and amounts What I thought...

    erm..Help!!

My Friend- I am an absolute scrub with Access. I just happened to see the template and gave it a quick look-over. Thought it might help. I would be hard-pressed to say that you can't do it. Access seems to be a ble to keep anything and everything together, so with the right guidance (and it is...

using 1 combo box to update many text boxes?

Not sure I understand the relationship. Are you saying that you would like a single record to be associated with more than 1 employee? You had also mentioned text boxes? Do you mean that the combo box entry replicates to those text boxes? I am thinking a subform would be helpful here. this form...

    Sub-Form not retaining data

Not sure I follow ya here? I have changed the record source for the Record# field to be the table that the MAIN form pulls from, but I still cannot get the sub-form to show the matching data based on record#. It does have the record number now, but the data will not show in the form, only the...

need subfrms to be nested in main form

I am struggling with a topic that is related to this. I have created a command button on the main form that opens the required sub-form. On that sub-form, I added a control button that simply closes the form. HTH

    Sub-Form not retaining data

To add to the mix...the report number that is the joining property on the sub-form does not pull over from the main form. How can I have this sub-form open and automatically have the matching record number in the field? Thanks for your help-

    Sub-Form not retaining data

I have created a sub-form bound to a separate table and joined via a record number. I have created a control button on my main form that brings up the sub-form. A user inputs specific data, saves and exits the sub-form, returning to the main form. When the user then selects to go back into the...

    query yeilding no records

I will admit upfront that I am a scrub at Access as well, but from the description you gave, it sounds as though the reason that your "master" query is not showing records is because the queries are processed in order, therefore, if your first query is to pull records that you other queries...

    Yes/ No sorting

To me, it sounds as though you would better off with an "IF" statement rather than an "OR" statement in your query Example: Show FIELD1 IF xxx=True... and include each of the three fields in the query. Does that make sense?? HTH too-
