Not a problem at all. I know EXACTLLY where you are coming from on that one. I did post a new topic regarding page breaks in large reports...if you have the time perhaps you could throw your 2 cents in on that. Thanks again for your time

    Page breaks in a report

I have a report (based on a query) that generates status/sales reoprt. We use various descriptions in our status field and the report shows all records so we can see where our files stand in our process. Is it possible to have the report page break between each of the different status types...

If you are like me, then you are slave to some 9 to 5 grind, so I know you are busy.....but your guidance could really be valuable to me. Anything you could do would be great. I am at dcowlin@haywardcapital.com Thanks David, David (go...

    Report Asks for Criteria Twice

I wish I could say I knew for sure, but this happened to me as well. For myself, I found that the report I ran was based on a query. That query had a field that I chose not to show, but specified a criteria for. As soon as I enabled the show function, the double prompt stopped. For what it's worth--

    How to prompt for criteria

Thanks David- I beleive that is the post I used to generate my criteria, and I posted you regarding a follow up on this matter. I can get it to work using this criteria IF THE USER KNOWS THE APPROPRIATE VALUE. I am hoping (and silently praying) that there is a way to have the prompt supply the...

The test field that I created to try this (which doesn't work) hehehe is in the report footer..so that part I understand, but I hate to say that your answer is somewhat confusing to me (and I apologize) The query DOES NOT use this field as the first selector to find its records. This field is...

    How to prompt for criteria

Yes and No- (sorry) My lookup table is simply a single field containing a name of a community. I have fiddled with the query and figured out how to have it prompt for an entry, but the users must KNOW what the value is. Is it possible to have the prompt provide the same drop-down list that is...

    How to prompt for criteria

I beleive I have an idea on how to do this, but I want to get some valued opinions first- I want to generate a report based on a speciic value that the user is prompted for, then have an underlying query pull all the records that match that value and generate the desired report. Should I create...

    This one is 2-fold

I have 2 questions..so I will divide them inot 2 separate posts: I use a query as the source for a report. This query includes a field that has multiple possibilities for the value (selected from a separate linked table). I want to count the # of instances that a specific value comes up and...

Now to add certain records from a query

I seemed to have figured out the expression to have the query total the records. Thanks anyway. I have LOTS more questions to ask...but that is another post :-)

    How to prompt for criteria

I have read through most of the posts, and I have not seen a clear answer on this one: I want to design a query (a select query I beleive) that will group records that contain a particular field. This field is a linked field to another table that provides about 15 diffeent possible entries. Can...

Now to add certain records from a query

First off-- Thanks to everyone for their willingness to help us "scrubs" with this mind-boggling" software. My question is this: I created a query that pulls specific fields from records, groups them together then presents them (I beleive it is a select query). I want to add 2 separate columns...

    Queries 101

I am COMPLETELY new to queries within Access. Here is my situation. I have built a database to handle specific projects. I have created tables based on each of these projects. The tables all contain the same fields, but the data is unique by project name. The question (or problem) I have is how...
