The database is statistical in function at this point. I can add primary keys to the other tables as you suggest and after checking out the other section of the forum maybe I will see how to establish the relationships. DOB works with Date fields and physician to compile the reports. If I...

    Forms Conversion

I have zipped a stripped version taking out the necessary identifiers. Currently there are four data entry forms. These tables have evolved over time and now I want one form that can be used for data entry and one for data editing. The four tables have date of birth, date of service, and...

Okay .... twins could become an issue but very unlikely. People with the same birthdate are not likely to have the same provider or be seen on the same day. It seems that I need a unique field to index but am unsure of how this would relate to the other three tables. (See screen shot). I am...

Ok, I went to the Record Source and you were correct. Here is what it contains: SELECT t_Advanced_Directive.DOB, t_Advanced_Directive.Date, t_Advanced_Directive.Physician, t_Advanced_Directive.[PAT at AMAASS], t_Advanced_Directive.Q1, t_Advanced_Directive.NA_1, t_Advanced_Directive.Q2...

Your right I am aware of that .... but when you elect to go to a new record nothing happens. When you reach the last record, the arrow for new record is grayed out so you can not get to a new record. Also with making sure edits and additions are allowed you still have no functiionality.

The numbers only represent the different tables and are not actually in the real table names. Remember I am a novice !! but I think part of the issue is I have no New buttom (embarassed)! After creating the tabs for the different forms, in open mode I can view all the data for each form that I...

The allow additions and edits is set to Yes. As to the number of subforms, I would have the main form for say table1, and three subforms which would provide the data entry for the other three tables. My ability for a screen shot is not working. The relationship is table1DOB to table2DOB to...

The form is based on the tables and not a query. I have Access 2003 Bible and will read up on subforms to see if I can figure it out. Do I need to make the date of birth field a primary key field in each of the four tables?? How many sub forms can you have within on form?

    Forms Conversion

Being a novice at this, I looked at the link and can only see one possible issue. I have "Relatinships" between a "Date of Birth" filed which is common to all tables. This is not a "Primary Key" field. Will making it so in all tables help? Would I need to do this in all four tables? I did place...

    Forms Conversion

I have a database I am updating which has four individual data entry forms. I want to combined these into one form as they all have three fields in common and will be much more efficient for entering data. I have successfully placed all the fields from the associated tables onto a form but I...

    Question Data Entry Issue

I have a form where I enter time values and the format is Short Time (00:00;0;_). This has been working fine, but I have one record when I enter the time values of 15:12 and 15:45 they appear on the associated report as 09:25 and 11:27 respectively. These values are not anywhere in the data...

    Form or Subform?

I did as you suggested and was able to cut the fields from form 2 and paste them in form 1. However several of the data entry fields, not all, that were cut and pasted to the first form have "green" corner and when you click on it the following is the message: Invalid Control Property: Control...

    Form or Subform?

Not sure how you arrive at 500? The total number of fields which I enter data, mostly Yes/No fields, is 131. Can you explain? The message came when I tried to copy the fields from the second form to the first form and went to save the new design. How would tab control be any different?

    Form or Subform?

First as I said there are four forms which on their own work fine. Table/form 1 has 39 fields,Table/form 2 has 46 fields, Table/form 3 has 26 fields, and Table/form 4 has 20 fields. Total fields 131; To amny?? I did look at Tab Control but could seem to get it to work. Not sure why but can...

    Form or Subform?

I have an ever expanding database with now four different data entry forms. Each of these have 3 elements in common. I have tried to expand the initial form to include the second with no luck. I have also tried using page break to go to the next forms fields. The most common message I get is...
