CRACKED IT!!! I had placed the field 'DrivingLicenceNo' from another table on the form. If a candidate's driving licence details were not filled in, I was not able to select the candidates from the combo box. When removing the field it works fine?

Hi, a little more information. When the combo box is used and a value selected, the form DOES change for a split second. Then reverts back to the original record???

But if we go to tblCandidates, there is data there? I am confused now. I appreciate all your help

I am creating a database for a new firm I am setting up. Basically we do transport training. But I have a candidates form (frmCandidates) with a search candidate function in the form of a combo box. And for some reason I just cannot get it to work.

If a candidate has a driving licence, they will have 1 licence number which will be either foreign or domestic. However, they may have more than one licence type. For example, one licence may cover more than one category of vehicle.
