    Data Entry Tabbed Forms

WindSailor I tried your forms and they worked great. When I look at what I have, I thought I have the same thing. I must be missing something pretty basic. I thought it may have been my relationships, but I changed them on yours and they worked fine also. I did the visible ServiceNumbers on...

    Data Entry Tabbed Forms

Just a quick note here I use the different set-up on the forms mostly because I find it is easier (limited experience speaking) for the user to be clear in what they are doing. When talking to people, when they open up the GUI and find the ability to move around records etc they panic a bit...

    Data Entry Tabbed Forms

Thanks for the replys so far... I am running in and out of the office today...so this will be a quick one I have two versions of the same tabbed forms setup. One is for Data Entry and one for Editing. The only difference is that the data entry set are linked directly to the tables and the...

    Data Entry Tabbed Forms

smercer Thanks for looking. I tried it again and I still have the same problem. If I put info in the main form like ServiceNumber then move to the first tab (employment) form and put in something for component then click the NOK tab (or any other) I get the error that is in the first post of...

    Data Entry Tabbed Forms

If somebody is willing to take a look at what I have I would appreciate it. I took out alot of the combo boxes and related lookup tables to keep the size down. Thanks

    Data Entry Tabbed Forms

Smercer thanks for the idea. I did what you had suggested. I even looked at things that were not even related and came up with nothing. I am convinced that it is a problem with having the main form and the first subform linked to the same table for data entry purposes. What I tried was...

    Data Entry Tabbed Forms

Looking for some guidance on this one, I have tried DoCmd.Save in various location and on various events to try to get this to work. Could this be a bug? The only thing I have not tried was to compact repair and export to new DBFE. Is this the last resort or am I missing something really simple?

    Data Entry Tabbed Forms

I tried to do that by putting a DoCmd.Save on the LostFocus event of the IDNumber but that did not work. Maybe I have the right idea but my implementation is wrong? Always looking for suggestions.

    VBA332.dll Error

I can say I really don't know for sure, but I suppose if the error appears then it either is missing or not functioning properly. I was thinking it might have to do with references, but there are several VBA references so I was not sure about that either. Thanks for the link and I will try to...

    Data Entry Tabbed Forms

Hi All I have tried my first attempt at making some tabbed subforms and I have come up with an error that I cannot seem to put my finger on. The error states “The changes that you requested to the table were not successful because they would create duplicate values in the index, primary key or...

    VBA332.dll Error

Hi All Good to back after a bit of a break... I am at a place where I have put together a small database and tried to implement the no scrolling mouse used from the various posts. Needless to say I did not have any luck... I kept getting the error missing VBA332.dll. I found this link...

Totalling times in hours and minutes

Here's my 2 minutes worth!! Just me being nosy again!!! I am not sure if that would be considered a good practice to input hours/minutes as 1.3hrs = 1 hr 30 mins. I would think that most people would think that equals 1 hrs and 18 mins. I suppose if your people are doing it now and they...

    Another Birthday Question

Thanks Mile I still don't understand though...I have been reading up on how modules work but I still don't get it. Can you point me to some material to research so I quit asking stupid questions? I am sure your reply was totally accurate but you might as well have wrote it in another...

    Another Birthday Question

I must be missing something pretty simple...go figure... You are right about the dteStart being the DOB, but how does it (the module I guess) know that? What if I had another date say for registration or testing date. How does the module know to look at the DOB? Does this have to do with the...

Totalling times in hours and minutes

Just an observation...and I don't really have an answer to your problem...but I recall when teaching navagation to junior officers, they always had a problem converting the decimal of hours to minutes. (don't really know why) When we do time/speed calculations we use what is called the 6...

I think if you hold the "shift" key down when you start your DB your menu bars will reappear.

    Question about "automation error" message

If I recall, I had automation errors when I did not have my references selected. If you need references to do something in your DB, they may be selected on your machine but not your co-worker's machine.

    Another Birthday Question

I concur!! I have been looking at the sample module that you posted Mile...I have some questions: Where does dteStart and dteEnd come from? I understand that it is startdate and enddate, but where is that information in the DB? Does the module run every time it sees the Age field on a form...

    Another Birthday Question

Thank you Mile... Some of the things that you changed I already have, but was trying to do it from memory as I am not home right now where my working copy is, ie better object names and the DOB as date vs text etc. I will take some time to look in detail what you did and try to sort it out and...
