Creating a Menu Bar

Great conversation! In my program, the functions are in a module (Menu Module) and all are public. As I mentioned before, they do come up sometimes without error but more often with the aforementioned error. I will try to identify what causes the change. Treason, I surely hope you are wrong...

    Creating a Menu Bar

OnAction Event Error of Menu Topic I thought this would be the next issue. I have created functions in a module fittingly named Menu Module. The VBA code has worked for some time as procedures in forms. I can execute the functions by calling them from the Debug window. However, after the...

    Creating a Menu Bar

gHudson, The menu is looking better! Perhaps you could validate the following. I found that the construction uses both the 'New Menu' and the 'Custom' commands. 1st a New Menu Bar is created. It is of the Menu Bar type. 2nd act requires some thought. If a menu is to be added with a...

    Creating a Menu Bar

GHudson, Your attachment is awesome! But I still am stuck. I got a menu by selecting under the COMMAND tab both ‘File’ as category and ‘Custom’ as the Command. This was fine. I renamed the menu topic “Client”. But for the life of me, I cannot drag ‘Custom’ to my “Client” menu topic and have...

    splash screen

gHudson, I think I have verified both of your statements. Unfortunately, I the picky one am not overly happy with either result. I was hoping that at least for the splash screen there would be NO title bar, like wallpaper, if only for a bit. My guess is that this is not to be. Do you agree?

    Creating a Menu Bar

gHudson, I have attached a 1 page zipped Word doc with screen shots of my not so wholesome menu bar. The menu item Client has 2 sub-menus and that is cool. What is not is the right-arrows beside them that point to a blank sub-sub menu that I do not want and cannot get rid of. If you would...

    splash screen

Well, I did set the BorderStyle to none but the title remains. I think you saw it with the attached Splash dB I posted earlier this week. I may be asking for to much!

    Creating a Menu Bar

I forgot to mention this but several posts on Newsgroups indicated that there is a Menu Builder under Tools/Add Ins. I could not find it in my copy of Access97 and wondered if the 'Wizard' executable I referred to in my last post is this or if it is hidden in the Value Pack portion of Office97.

    Sound in a Form

ghudson, Thanks for your response! I took the application to the office where my client is and loaded the changes there. It worked fine. On return to home, I found that for this PC I was missing a sub-directory in my path. Once corrected it worked fine. Very cool and neat. U R 2 Cool!

    Sound in a Form

ghudson, Here it is. You will need to add a graphic file to the OnOpen Event and the gblGraphicsPath will most likely not make sense but the only intent is to display an image. I call the sound module here also. I appreciate your help!

    Sound in a Form

ghudson, Your example code and call are great. I tried it on the splash screen I created to open a program. I believe that I pasted all your code in correctly to a module I named Sound2. My call statement is on the OnOpen event of the splash form. Stepping through, it does not hit the...

    splash screen

Additional Splash Question Greetings, I've looked at all the recent threads on Splash and the Timer to the point where I have one on Startup. I have the image control SizeMOde set to stretch and by piecewise refinement, my form now fills the screen. How can I get rid of the title bar on the...

    Return Multi-Values from Module

Fofa, Thanks for or response. I finally worked with crating a function and it worked just fine! I was running on a paradigm that a function could return only one value. The call and function statements below allow for changes in all 4 variables passed. I called the function from 2 forms but...

    Return Multi-Values from Module

Hello, I want to pass 2 variables from two different forms to a common routine. The routine needs to return 4 values to the calling statement. I am unsure what structures can handle this. I would appreciate any advice.

Open Recordset with Dlookup Variable for Field Name

I found the answer! After continued looking in forums and newsgroups, I found some interesting twists to the SQL that finally led me to the solution. The variable fldName was not necessary. Instead the variable CR_Abb can be used directly in the SQL as follows: Set rstDFT_1 =...

Open Recordset with Dlookup Variable for Field Name

Greetings, Here I am again, treading where I've never trod before. I have looked through a lot of threads but cannot find what I am looking for which is this: I have several tables with common field names. Within a form, and totally outside the realm of form controls, I need to access one...

Update data after actual Print of Report

Did it Print? It has been a while since Pat said there is no way of knowing if a report actually printed so I have a little optimism! I am in Access97 and have some essential reports that are opened in Print Preview. I really, really would like to know if the user actually printed the report...
