Trying to move to a new record. Continuous Form.

I've fixed it, i've gone SQL Insert Into route. Just incase anyone is interested the new code is below. With Forms!frmSwictboard!frmIncidentCoreData.Form!frmPartQtyCoreData.Form For Each varItem In Me.lstPartValidation.ItemsSelected DoCmd.SetWarnings False...

Trying to move to a new record. Continuous Form.

I know there are many topics on this subject, and believe me i've looked at most. It should be a really simple thing to do, and i'm frustrated i've spent so much time without a solution. With a bit of luck someone can point out the obvious for me. With...

Multiple Access to Linked .txt Files?

I've been asked if i found a solution to this problem. So i thought i'd reply here in case anyone else needs a fix. macca the hacke was right, the only way to have multiple user access the same linked text file is to import the tables and not link to them. The text files i wanted to link too...

    Database Crashing!

I'd been asked if i ever found a fix for my problem, so i'm posting this just incase anyone else need help. I did get round the problem, it took a fairly drastic change to get a fix but it turns out to be a much better way of sending things (emails in this case). I ditched the SendObject...

    ListBox & subform Record Select

Can anyone here that can give me a quick pointer. I've got a ListBox in my main form, the recordsorce for the ListBox is a query. The query gets some dates that are stored on my subform table. The ListBox updates itself when switching records on the main form. All the above is working fine...

Querydef: Am i going about this in the right way?

I'm being thick, its early and my brain hasn't engaged yet. :o The problem isn't passing the variable to the query anymore, both methods work now. The problem is using the recordset to create my excel sheet. DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputQuery, szQueryName, acFormatXLS, szFullTempPath, False...

Querydef: Am i going about this in the right way?

Thanks namliam, I thought about doing that last night, I’m sure that will work. To be honest though, its not the most eloquent solution, I was hoping that I’d learn a cleaner method of passing a variable to a query and using that to create my excel sheets. Then again, its better have have a...

Querydef: Am i going about this in the right way?

Yep, that’s right. I'll gladly concede I’m going about it the wrong way, it was the best way I could think about doing this

Querydef: Am i going about this in the right way?

It will be every client in the table. The table quite small for now, there's only 8 records in there. Like I say, potentially it could grow considerably. I've attached the database, maybe it will help to take a look. This could be a powerful tool if I could this working. Thanks for your time...

Querydef: Am i going about this in the right way?

Sorry, perhaps I didn't explain that very well. This database has to run without any user intervention. I need to be able to leave it running on a server 24/7 and just check everyone once in a while to see if its fallen over.

Querydef: Am i going about this in the right way?

Normally that would be acceptable, but this particular database needs to be fully automated. I have a form that will run 24 hours a day, this form has a timer event that triggers the code at a certain time and a certain day. Then for each of our suppliers it will create an excel spreadsheet...

Querydef: Am i going about this in the right way?

Thanks KeithG, that worked. I did try that earlier, I guess it was the DAO reference tripping me up before. The only problem I have now is DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputQuery, szQueryName, acFormatXLS, szFullTempPath, False The code above is going to bypass the QueryDef. I know i'll have to change...

Querydef: Am i going about this in the right way?

Thanks for you prompt replies. I can't believe I’ve not referenced DAO in my variables, I’ve been there before and it caused a lot of pain before. Thanks for pointing that one out namliam. I'm not using .parameters correctly, I’m getting a "Item not found in this collection" error...

Querydef: Am i going about this in the right way?

I can normally find all the answers to my questions by searching for them, unfortunately this little problem has me stumped. I'm not even sure I’m going about this in the right way, which is why I’m posting here. I'm creating a database, and the basic concept is I want to be able to create a...

    Database Crashing!

Has no-one got any idea's what's causing this error? I'm under increasing pressure to finish this database I’ve been working on, and I don't really want to release it with such a serious bug.

    Database Crashing!

I've come across a problem with my database, I’ve tried everything I can think of, and I’m still no wiser as to what’s causing the crashes. I hope someone can shed some light on what the problem might be. I've created a database that uses a switchboard to navigate through the various forms, the...

Multiple Access to Linked .txt Files?

We've had a problem for quite a while with regards to multiple users being able to view/run, queries/reports at the same time. If someone is running a query/report, and then someone attempts to use any other query/report that’s already using the linked .txt file they get the error message: The...
