    Opening to show certain records

Cheers DC. I spent about 3 hours this afternoon mucking around with that one. Almost put the old foot through the computer screen. I was placing the quotes after the AND. Ta again.

    Filter Listbox

I have a listbox detailing countries that I use to run a query depending on which countries are selected. The list has become very long so the user wants to filter out the EEC ones and non EEC ones. I thought the best way would be to add a column for EEC to the underlying countries table and...

    Make controls visible/invisible

I've a form with 2 buttons. One to add an entry, the other to edit. They both access the same form. This form has buttons on it that I want to be invisible if you're adding and visible if you're editing. I know I could have 2 separate forms but was wondering how to do this with just one form.

Lotus Notes email - max characters

I'm using the following code found on this site for emailing from Access to Lotus Notes. Works a treat but I've found that if the total number of characters in the email addresses number over about 270 then it doesn't work. The addresses dont transfer. Any ideas why this is? Dim intCounter As...

    Error Trap

I use this code to trap a duplicate entry on a form. I realise I could simply copy and paste this to all the other forms and amend the message box. Am I right in thinking that I could put this into a module and then call it from the various forms or am I way off track here. If I could any...

    Boxes chopped off

On further inspection I noticed that for whatever reason the font that the report had been designed in wasn't available. Changed the font to a std font such as Times New and it worked fine.

    Boxes chopped off

Odd one this. A user has a front end on her G drive (global). In Print Preview and when printed the alignment goes wonky including chopping off bits of data. When I access the same front end from my workstation it works fine. Also, she has a front end on her local drive which also works fine...

    Background Image

It may be that you made the form too long in design view. This happens to me frequently and the vertical scroll bar appears. Try reducing the length in design view. Of course, you will have less room to play with!

    Mail Merge

Whoops. Didn't have the references for Word ticked. Added code objWord.ActiveDocument.PrintPreview objWord.Visible = True objWord.WindowState = wdWindowStateMaximize Seems to work. Another few hours wasted!!!

    Mail Merge

I'm using this code which I found on this site to do a mail merge. Works fine. When it goes to word the screen isn't maximised. I would like to go to print preview too if possible. Any ideas? Dim dbs As DAO.Database, rstNames As Recordset Dim objWord As Object Set objWord =...

DLookup to avoid duplicates and the " ' " problem

    Thanks to everyone for your advice. One way of doing it is If Not IsNull(DLookup("[Organisation]", "tblOrganisations", _ "[Organisation]= " & """" & Me![Organisation] & """" & _ "And [Address1]= " & """" & Me![Address1] & """")) Then Thanks for the tip of the quotes. I must sit down and get it...

    Apostrophe

Hi - tremendous it worked with your 4 quotes, not with 3 which is a bit worrying! Thanks again for your help. Never have got there on my own. I'll shout you a beer if you're ever in London. Cheers again

    Apostrophe

Hello again. Thanks for taking the time out. Doesn't like that at all. Compile error. The annoying thing is I originally had this: If Not IsNull(DLookup("[Organisation]", "tblOrganisations", "[Organisation]= """ & _ Me![Organisation] & """ And [Address1] = '" & Me![Address1] & "'")) Then...

DLookup to avoid duplicates and the " ' " problem

Hello Jack. I've had this problem with the apostrophes and put a post up earlier today but without success............so you're my last resort. I was having a problem with apostrophes and found this current thread which was great, ie, putting in the 3 quotes. My problem is I have a DLOOKUP that...
