Try this one to specify the columns for which you want to insert data: INSERT INTO table_name (column1, column2,...) VALUES (value1, value2,....)

while in Database window Click on Tools=> then select Start up. then uncheck: Allow Full Menus,Allow Default menus,Allow Built-in Toobars,Allow Toolbar/Menu Changes

so why do you just put your fields for your table as above:Subject1_Theory,Subject1_viva :D that's 100% right Excel and Access are two different animals,most of the things you do in excel canot be done in Access Why not happy about that,it could be a simpler way of doing it:)

One way of doing that is by using the CheckBoxes on your form when indicating which particular course(s) a student has undertaken.

Subreports might help in that situation,but am not sure about the last part where you want to choose which query to display

Search on Access Help about subreports, you will find how you can create the subreports

why cant you just replace the Numbers with the text in your ComboBox
