Enabling a disabled checkbox under certain conditions

I was wondering if this was possible: I am using a form with checkboxes that also populates a table with several checkboxes to give profile information on mental health clients. All of the fields are independent of the others (e.g. "physical disabilities" can be checked alongside "domestic...

Help with alphabetizing movie titles that start with "the" and others

First off, thank you so much, Scooter, for your time and knowledge in helping me out. Your breakdown helped me a great deal to understand the syntax of strings. In response to the second part: That is what I meant, but I was wondering if it is a better idea to pull records for a form like...

Help with alphabetizing movie titles that start with "the" and others

WOW! Fastest reply, ever! Thanks, Scooter! That worked like a charm. If I can I ask a couple more questions if you (or anyone else with the knowledge) have the time: 1) Can you break down that string for me? I am having a hard time improvising my own strings because I can't seem to get a...

Help with alphabetizing movie titles that start with "the" and others

I am building a small personal database to organize my DVD movies, but thought I would get this issue cleared in case I need to do this for either a work project or something for someone else. One of the tables in the mdb file is, of course, the one that contains the titles of the movies...

    Advice needed on database design

Hey Desafinada, Thanks for the input and sorry about responding so late despite all of your time(s) being donated to help (I was on vacation...) Actually, each client has only one bill type to pay. When they enter the program, they have a an agreed upon fee and that is exactly what they owe...

    Advice needed on database design

Hey all, I wanted to post on how to set a module or some equivalent to do automatic billing, but I think that that would have become a longer than necessary thread if my database is not designed correctly in the first place. I thought I would solicit some feedback on whether my database can...

Is this VBA code still vaild?

Hey Rural, Thanks for the tip and I went to the link and am attempting to iron out some kinks there as well. In case there seems to be no way of making the "mouse trap" in that forum work, how would an me.undo work and how can I just plain ole disable the mousewheel and page ups and downs...

    A better mouse trap?

First of all, thanks to ghudson for the code! I opened up the zip file and loved the way it worked! The problem: I copied and pasted the code to one of my forms and then attempted to run it. Immediately, it gave me the following error message: "Compile error: Method or data member not...

Is this VBA code still vaild?

Hey Rural, Thanks for the quick reply. As for what I am trying to do, I was trying to get away from bound forms and bound text boxes for future databases so I can stop worrying about how to limit automatic insertion of data into tables. It seemed, after going through a lot of threads here...

Is this VBA code still vaild?

I was going through these forums looking for information on making text boxes fill in table fields upon button commands or close of forms, etc. and ran into this post. However, this post was from a while ago (I think the post said 2000) and I was wondering if it would still work on Access 2003?

Ross, you are Elvis! You have really helped move my project along! To David: At this point, this database is so far in that I have decided not to set my open/ closed field to a Boolean type thing, but I was able to incorporate the message box. Your advice as well as Galaxiom's is inching me...

Once again you have saved the day for me, Ross. One last question for this thread and I promise to stop this thread altogether. Would the following line of code make sense if I wanted frmopenlist to requery and reflect that the client that has been closed and is no longer on the list of open...
