Minor Change Caused Major Increase in Calculation and Saving Time

Minor Change Caused Major Increase in Calculation and Saving Time

Howdy. :Pivot Table caches tend to stay put. You might be better off deleting the Pivot Table and starting over, so that all "old" data setups can bee deleted and you only have the latest data. That is why in VBA, you clear the cache and setup a new Pivot on the fly, to avoid the congestion...

    Chart Help!!

I checked in that book I mentioned in the post above. If you look at pages 256-257 and modify the setup you will get exactly what you want. I had setup something like that about a year ago. Note, rather than use blanks for no data in those columns that have only one stack, it would be better to...

    VBA pivot table problem

Just as a note on Pivot tables with VBA, chapter 12 of VBA and Macros for MS Excel by Bill Jelen (Mr. Excel), et al, is a superb helper, in which you can create code on the fly (with automatic resizing, etc.). Code samples provided. Once I began using it in VBA I seldom went back to creating PT...

    Excel PivotTable for Utilization

Howdy. I can't open the document right now - traveling with access to Excel.... but it is often better to put formulas in the original table. Two other approaches: 1. Set up the Pivot Table, then use formulas to draw data from Pivot (may be longer) 2. Write VBA code for Pivot Tables, then...

    problem with 'xlDOWN'

No, no. Check to see whether the range is, in fact, being selected. So take this Range("A3", "AL3").End(xlDown).Locked = True and modify it to this. Try this and see what happens when you step through using F5 (helps to have Excel and VBA both visible, so arrange windows to check)...

Not sure I understand what you mean by "return accurate score values". Couple of notes on the use of MATCH (and Lookup formulas). 1) If TRUE is the last argument, then the formula returns if not an exact match, then the closet value less than that. 2) The #N/A for score 1, indicates that there...
