Counting occurrences of a value in a datasheet subform

Okay, I've tried putting it on the footer of the datasheet form but despite setting its visible property to yes, it doesn't appear! Where am I going wrong? B

Counting occurrences of a value in a datasheet subform

Hello You Again! :) Ok, I added that as the controlsource for an unbound text box in the main form footer with a full reference to the control on the subdatasheet form but it still gives me an #error. Should I place the control on the subform footer instead? B

Counting occurrences of a value in a datasheet subform

Hello Gurus! I have searched this forum but none of the related posts have given me any insight into my problem. I have subform (datasheet) with a column for gender indicating "Male" or "Female" I wish to place the totals for each gender (and total overall) on the main form footer. I have...

    Prevent duplicates in junction table

Hi All A [hopefully] quick question: Attached is my many to many relationship setup. I would like to prevent the possibility of entering the same person more than once for the same training event. I am assuming that I do this by setting an index setting for a field the junction table? Any...

    Main and subform woes

I think I'm getting a little overwhelmed and not thinking straight at the moment. I do have a CourseEvent table that lists course title, date and location. I'll try to figure out how to link it, I'm sure I've exhausted your good will by now! Thanks again for your time. L

    Main and subform woes

Thank you for your patience, I'm sure this is dragging on longer than you expected! :banghead: Okay, I have removed all spaces from table fields. Those must have slipped in, I usually avoid them. I used an obscure table naming system to help me relate them to the right form. Silly, sorry for...

I have one participants table from which I select any individual either presenting or attending training. Only one person can be in charge per training, would I still require a FK for this field?

Is it possible for the eventID to be automatically populated from the main form or not? Is your "attendantID" different to my "participantID" which is the person attending the training event?

    Main and subform woes

Okay, I have the combobox created and it shows the columns I want. However, I receive an error message that say"You cannot add or change a record since a related record is required in [the attendance table]". Clearly I stuffed up somewhere!

    Main and subform woes

Okay, I have created the main and subform with the latter based on the junction table. There are no records and no dropdowns available in the datasheet that the wizard created. Is this expected?

    Main and subform woes

This is so helpful, thank you! Okay, so I have enforced RI and used the correct datatype. To create the multicolumn index, should I simply changed the two foreign keys in the junction table to Indexed (No duplicates) or do you mean something else?

    Main and subform woes

Hi Myrtle, You are brilliant, thanks again! Okay, so no problem with setting up the junction table and relationships, that is sorted. Can you perhaps just give me a pointer on the best way to then create the main/subform? Do I for example, use the form wizard to add fields from the...
