I don;t doubt you for a second, but you're likely multiples my senior when it comes to windows! I'm sure if I did what you suggested, and some other problem came up, if our IT people heard I did THIS they would be horrified.

P.S. I copied and pasted the data into excel, and excel recognizes the fields as equal.

2 fields, one in each table. Both fields are identical, short text, 255 char max. The join query on these two fields works perfectly 95% of the data, Access can tell that the join fields have identical data and joins the tables accordingly. But for a handful of people it just does not...
