    Linked Table Manager Empty

Has anyone ever experienced this? Our system recently upgraed to Office 2016 from 2010, however, Access was NOT upgraded (yet). When I open any database now, I am shown a lot of popups before it finally opens. I do not know if any of this is related. My problem is that when I am trying to...

Solved Filtering a form based on more than one selection

Hello all. I have a form with a list of projects. Each project has a project originating agency, and there is also a basic time tracker where the responsible project manager puts in an estmate for how much time was spent on the project. I created a combobox in order to select a project...

You are a lifesaver!! I had tried so many forms of OR (Like "*" for example) but nothing worked. Thank you so much! Now if I can just filter it by Year and Officer...

Filtering form by combobox, show ALL records if no selection made?

Hello again wonderful people! I have a form that contains a combobox which I use to filter records based on a field. There is a button which creates a report based on the "results" of that filter which makes a calculation of total time. I have two problems just now: 1) I want a time report for...

Create record in one table automatically based on data from another form?

The original external job remains, as does the internal if there is one. So basically one call for support can result in either one job or two, if that isn't overly confusing? They should reference back to each other, but the RFI/Internal job, being strictly internal, doesn't have such a high...

Create record in one table automatically based on data from another form?

Oh! I should have added that but yes, all tables have an autonumber called ID. I think I am wrapping my head around this now. Thank you both so much! This will give me a great start to work with. I am sure I will have more questions, and I really appreciate your help.

Create record in one table automatically based on data from another form?

Thank you! That is what I was thinking but I am having trouble figuring out if I am breaking normalisation by pulling some of the same data to two separate tables?

Create record in one table automatically based on data from another form?

Thank you, as always, arnelgp. I am not a QC. I actually am responsible for a large archive of information, among other things, and was given six excel sheets that contained basically just a list of the nearly 10,000 file archive. The excel sheets were cumbersome and horrible and I discovered...

Create record in one table automatically based on data from another form?

I am trying something and I am not sure if this is the "right" solution to my problem, or whether it is possible, so I am open to all suggestions! I have a database that has a table that records incoming help requests from external sources. We can call this External Support. I created a form to...

    Non-english letters

Thank you both! I had just created a new table trying to avoid those characters but wondered if it was necessary because it hurts my brain to see so many "spellling errors". :) I will leave them just to be safe. Thank you again!

    Non-english letters

A quick question, should one avoid using non-english letters in table field names? (such as Swedish å, ä, ö). Does this cause any issues I should be aware of? Thanks in advance!

Button to automatically create a report?

That is correct, the field to look up is InUseBy, and the combobox I am using to select it is the cboFilterInUseBy.

Button to automatically create a report?

Okay so I have tried both of those and I get an error 2465 "can't find the field in the expression". I have DoCmd.OpenReport "rptInUseBy", acViewPreview, "InUseBy = '" & [cboFilterInUseBy] & "'" I apologize for continuing to ask, it is probably quite apparent to you guys. I've been trying to...

Button to automatically create a report?

This is wonderful! It created the report in preview mode which is lovely. However, my syntax must be wrong because it showed all results and not the filtered I chose with the combobox. This is what I have: DoCmd.OpenReport "rptInUseBy", acViewPreview, InUseBy = "" & [cboFilterInUseBy] & ""...

Button to automatically create a report?

Hi all, I must preface this with that all I know about Access, I have learned from googling and youtube. I have a database with a split form based on a query. In that form, I have a dropdown combobox that shows one of my fields in order for users to be able to easily select one item from the...
