    Weird one this?

it's on the TABLE design, on the Type field..... the Display Control is set to ComboBox and Scaffolding is still in the Lookup list in there :)

    Question DoCmd.DoMenuItem

yeah, that sounds about right - I think it must be some kind of 'catchall' in the coding so that when you open a form that's supposed to go to a new record, it definitely does, lol.... I've changed the code anyway to DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acNewRec

    Question DoCmd.DoMenuItem

the database I'm working on was originally written on Access 2000 but I'm going through it trying to 'update' it, which is why I'm coming across all this old code..... trying to decipher it all isn't proving that easy! I also keep finding things like this: If Me.OpenArgs = "GotoNew" And Not...

    Question DoCmd.DoMenuItem

ok, that makes no sense at all, in the context of what is happening on the form, lol..... maybe that's why it's not working as it should ;)

    Question DoCmd.DoMenuItem

Sorry to leap in, but I've found DoCmd.DoMenuItem acFormBar, acEditMenu, 8, , acMenuVer70 in a database I'm looking at for someone else.... can anyone tell me what it does, and what I can replace it with? (it's on a button that prints a report from a form, before docmd.printout...

    Access imcrement

try this? I've left all the fields visible but obviously you can hide them once you've seen what it does ;) If this works for you.... then I'd also suggest you put in some code so that if someone clicks the button and the patient already has a 'reference', then it doesn't try to generate a...

    Update in Join Query

Why have you linked the CodID to both the origin and the dest? With that join in place, it will only match records where BOTH the origin and dest match the CodID... which would mean the origin and dest would have to be the same? ... also, which Flag is it you're wishing to update to True?

Remove duplicates - if 2 fields are equal

... because it's only when both are duplicated on the same record, and the OP said the Find duplicates query would only search on one field? .... although I haven't looked to see if it makes any difference to the outcome ;) [Edit] looked at both ways of doing it now: same outcome! I suppose...

Remove duplicates - if 2 fields are equal

Ok, from that, I think I was right in saying it's only when the combination of ParentPN and ChildPN is repeated that you have a problem.... so, going back to my previous post: In a query, create a calculated field to combing the ParentPN and ChildPN, eg CheckPN and then use Find Duplicates...

Remove duplicates - if 2 fields are equal

are you looking for records where the 'combination' of ParentPN and ChildPN appear more than once.... or is it just any records which contain any repeated parentpn OR repeated childpn? If it's the 'combination' you're looking for, then can't you just combine the ParentPN and ChildPN as a...

    fields display

the ControlSource of your combo79 is Expr1000.... my guess is (though it's hard to tell here) that in the recordsource of the subform, you've either included the same field twice, or you're using data from 2 tables in your record source, both of which contain the same field.... and it's called...

    return one value or another

Correct me if I'm wrong, Martin.... but in answer to jdraw: my understanding was that 'solo' means it's one colour only (but you only know which one by looking through all the available colours!) and Multi means it is made up on more than one colour... again you would only know which ones by...

Oh, right... if you want to store what's in the second column, just change the boundcolumn to 2 AS for the Expr1000 - sorry, not sure what you mean?

looks like you can't use MAX that way... sorry! Ignore me ;) or try: iif([package type]="multi","multi",[red]&[yellow]&[blue])
