Storing data in two fields without allowing Duplicate entries

I think you are misunderstanding, a claim number is unique and is based on the date of when it was processed. We send letters to providers of service and sometimes we have several claims for the same provider processed through time. So, claimnumber, claimnumber2 and claimnumber3 are unique and...

Bound forms in a multi-user environment

I have multiple users entering data on bound forms. I have three required fields, all in the first 3 fields of the form. My question is, can I program something to where Access will update the record, after the 3rd required field, so that other users are not having to wait to enter there new record?

Storing data in two fields without allowing Duplicate entries

I need to know if I can store data in more than one field, without allowing Duplicate entries. Example: We have to send out letters with a claim number on it, sometimes we need multiple claim numbers on a letter, up to about 10 claim #'s is the most I've seen thus far. We mail merge into Word...

    Looking to purchase Access 2003

Where can I find it for a good price? Some of the prices I am finding on the Internet are outrageous. I am upgrading from Access 97, so I figure I need to buy it brand new and not the upgrade version.

Have you heard about Access 97 and XP no longer working together?

Question We currently have Access 97 on all our PC's at work, however, next month we are getting new PC's with XP and Access 2003. What problems will we encounter? I am the go-to person who has to fix any problems or issues we have, so I'd appreciate any advice you may have.

    Required Fields

Doesn't Work, I was able to add new records to the database without any error messages. The only way I got the required field notice is when I clicked New. So, it can be bypassed. I need a way for it not to be bypassed.
