How do you delete text data from multiple cells?

This is bound to be a stupid question but I can't find the answer. I need to clear the text data from a single field for about 400 consecutive records. So, in my table, I click the first cell that needs to be cleared, scroll down to the last cell that needs to be cleared, then SHIFT+CLICK and...

Report layout - how do I print 10 classes on one 11x17 landscape sheet of paper?

Hi. Here's a report layout challenge for you. I have ten kindergarten classes each in a different room with different teachers. Each classroom contains from 10-15 students. My table has fields for grade (they're all kindergarten), classroom, teacher, and students. I need to print all ten...

Combo box - how do you edit existing data using the form?

And one more thing... :D When I type in the combo box, find a name, and hit TAB, all the data for that person that is already in the table appears. Perfect! But when I hit TAB again to move my cursor to the first field in the form (after my retrieval combo box), all the fields change to that...

Combo box - how do you edit existing data using the form?

Wow! Worked great. Thanks so much. One more thing. When I finish completing (or updating) the last field in my form, I'd like to hit TAB and have it go to a NEW, blank entry. Instead, it takes me to the next name in the Retrieval "list". I'll bet it's easy. Am I right? :)

How to avoid re-entering info that's already in a table

Yes, that makes sense. However, I am not sure of two things.... 1. Do I edit the column property of each text box or the column property of the combo box? 2. Given your example, "=Forms!Customers!CompanyName.Column(1)", I'm not sure how that translates to my form. For instance, if my table...

Combo box - how do you edit existing data using the form?

I have got a table with people's names, addresses, phones, birthdays, etc. as fields. I've created a form to use to enter data into the table but want to be sure I'm not duplicating data already in the table so have set up a combo box. The combo box has three "columns" (last name, first name...

How to avoid re-entering info that's already in a table

neileg, Thanks so much for the help. The more you teach me, the more I realize I don't know. Just a few questions regarding your helpful reply. Regarding solution #1... When you write, "load the data into the query that populates the combo", do you mean simply to open the query? I have...

How to avoid re-entering info that's already in a table

This is great stuff. I appreciate the help. I'm almost there. Need some help crossing the last hurdle. I've created my combo box (LAST NAME) based on a query. Sure enough, when I type in a last name and click the down arrow, I see a list of last names (and first names and date of birth - three...

How to avoid re-entering info that's already in a table

Thanks for the feedback. Generally, we enter one name at a time so I like the sound of this "combo box' concept but I need some help. Can I just open my existing form, right click on the "last name" field, click "change to", and choose "combo box"? I'm guessing there's something more to it...

How to avoid re-entering info that's already in a table

Need an opinion about the best way to do this. Using a form which puts data into a table, we entered about 1,200 names with addresses, phone numbers, etc. for an annual event a year ago. Now it's time for this year's event. Many of last year's participants will attend again this year and will...

Learning my way through Access 2007 and wonder if you can help me with this. (I'm guessing it's simple.) I have a table that contains several fields including "Boy/Girl", "He/She", and "Him/Her". I have a form that contains the control "Boy/Girl". How do I configure the form so that when BOY...
