    Do you have "Option Explicit" set at the top of all your code modules? ...... I do now! RunType is the name of a text box on the form & I refer to it as =[Forms]![DownstairsOrders]![RunType] on the report.

    Thank you Pat - makes sense & sorry for delayed response... Now getting Run-time error '2427': You entered an expression that has no value... I can see the value in the filtered report but I'm obviously missing something - Arrrgh

    The message box says "A custom macro" rather than code but when I take the code out the report generates fine...

    Yes the code is in the detail section of the report in the On Format Event - so not exactly sure ... image might help?

    Have got the Order ID to the pop up by using Modal & Cycle Current Record with Default value on Order ID referencing the main form's Order ID... But get error show on pic when trying to save it.

    😅 S'okay for you pro's - I'm petrified to change anything in case I rock the boat! The types & sub types have no relationship in access but they do in the mind of the user...But I shouldn't mix the two up - My only excuse for bad practice - apologies Pat :)

    I could maybe copy the DB onto a laptop and set up an export file to email/google docs that could be appended to the main DB? Might have to brush up on appending data or would a union query be less fraught?
