    Fairly New and Need Help

People here will be more than willing to demo or help with that. Also IMO nested subforms can be not very intuitive. It takes a little bit of work but linked subforms (synchronized subforms) are often easier to understand. Especially if you want to show things from more than 2 tables. This is...

    Fairly New and Need Help

To design this I would have Dashboard with buttons to get to the different forms frmTechnicians to add edit technicians frmCustomers with 2 continuous subforms for properties and payment status. However that could be a lot. I probably have a single form for adding customers first. Then...

    Fairly New and Need Help

People have different naming conventions the trick is to be consistent and make names that will make building and maintaining the db easier. There is good and bad, but no exact right or wrong. This is mine. Table names IMO need to be descriptive and plural. It is not a table of Appoint Date...

    Fairly New and Need Help

You do not have to prefix your objects but Access makes it confusing if you do not. If your make a report or query or form based on a table using the wizard you get the table name as the default. So now you have lots of different objects forms, report, query, table all with the same name. So...

    Fairly New and Need Help

To add to larry's design. Do not use special characters except an underscore PO_No not PO# COD_Bankrupt not COD/Bankrupt However that COD/Bankrupt tables is not descriptive or designed correctly. You have hardwired your statuses as fields. Those should be choices. tblPaymentStatus -StatusID...

Overview of subsequently added object properties that are only accessible via the "Properties" collection.

I think I showed that is not very exact with lots of exception. There are properties added to the properties collection that have no meaning (scale and precision on a text field) There are properties that have meaning but are not visible from the GUI (the display control on a calculated field)

Overview of subsequently added object properties that are only accessible via the "Properties" collection.

So I asked chat if there is a way to do it and it agreed to what I was saying. There is no exhaustive list and your best bet is doing what I said. Go through the GUI and see what properties you can expose. But like the above shows there are at least some addable properties that are not exposed...

Overview of subsequently added object properties that are only accessible via the "Properties" collection.

I think you can determine 95% of possible properties by looking at the GUI then manipulating it to see what other properties show up when you change a property. For example change the display control and you will see all the different properties for that display control or change the data type...

Overview of subsequently added object properties that are only accessible via the "Properties" collection.

I played with this I while back trying to figure out a pattern and there seems to be more exceptions than rules. To demonstrate I added at dummy short text field and then run a loop to show the properties. I create this dummy field and print out its properties and get 1 Value 2 Attributes 3...

    Solved Access behaving badly.

That is opposite of what you should be doing. Pop up brings it in front, and modal restricts leaving it. A Popup form floats above all other Access windows. What Popup does The form becomes a top‑level window, not embedded inside the Access application window. • It stays in front of...

Sub vs Function - who win?

In early vba it was common to see people do the opposite and not use functions but only sub routines. There was heavy use of In/Out parameters. I use to see it quite often and was always confused. I believe this was leftover habits from early limitations in VB and similar use in windows API...

Solved Linked Tbl (Decimal Type Col Not Displaying Decimal Places As Spec'd)

According to Chat, what I guessed was wrong. It should display 15 digits. So no idea, but you could still try forcing the format.

Solved Linked Tbl (Decimal Type Col Not Displaying Decimal Places As Spec'd)

My guess is you need to force the format property to something. I am not sure what. I am guessing all needed ####. But my guess without a default format specified it is limiting it to 13.

Sub vs Function - who win?

That is Copilot. It is kind of mind boggling how clear and concise it is. So somewhat related question I had is why you can use TempVars in a query and not a VBA variable. It is also related to above. Access looks inconsistent here at first glance, but once you understand which engine is doing...

Sub vs Function - who win?

Somewhat unrelated but explains some quirks in Access. This took me years and years to understand. For example in an property if you can specify a Function but not a Sub even though you are doing an action and there is not even a way to use a return value if you wanted. Example in a controls...

Sub vs Function - who win?

There is no performance difference, but provides clarity in your code. Function - I intend to return a value Sub - I am intending to do something. KitaYama's, thread shows there can be a few unintended consequences because something is always returned from a function even if you choose not to...
