How do I input subtotals in to a report to add the total value of the numbers at a set point. I.e. so that I can have all the different types of subjects totalled up?

How do I turn a Form in to a Search tool once ive created it? My form is liked to a Query, so I would like to be able to update the Query without changing the Forms search ability.
