Tried that....but if you group by first and movie is western and als drama if criteria is drama it will not show this movie....am I doing something else wrong? Thanks

Ok I believe I have corrected as youu suggested and looked at your examples. The problem I have is that a movie will generally have more than one actor....How do I handle that ??

Table is Movies Fields are Title,actor1, actor2 etc would like to be able to query all actor fields to see what movies they are in. In other words I would like to see all movies a certain actor appears in. New to this please forgive my ignorance......any suggestions
